About Home Inspector Pro

Home Inspector Pro is a solution that helps businesses manage processes for residential inspections and communicate with employees in the field. Key features include data synchronization, customer database, onsite printing, speech recognition and report summaries.

Designed for home, commercial, mold and radon investigators, Home Inspector Pro lets users generate reports and share them with clients adding multiple elements such as videos and photos. It comes with templates, which allows inspectors to manage custom documents using white-label solutions to establish brand visibility. Additionally, the tool enables enterprises to receive notifications whenever clients, real estate agents and home buyers/sellers view or download reports from portals.

Home Inspector Pro can either be deployed on-premise or hosted in the cloud. Mobile applications for Android and iOS devices are also offered to remotely manage business activities. It is available on a monthly subscription and support is extended via documentation, phone, email and other online measures.

Best Home Inspection Software

When you use ISN it simplifies the process even more. You complete the report send it to ISN and you are done. ISN will send the report however you have configured it. We have gotten the time down to about 20 minutes to complete the report on our pc and send it out.

Pros:

HIP is the best software for customization, ease of use, photo editing, and just over all the best software on the market. The app is simple and when you get done you send it to the cloud and then finish on your pc.

Cons:

I really can't say there are any cons at this time.

It could be improved. More intuitive.

I've used several and this is one of them. Its fine once you know how to use it. I think you just learn to work with its limitations.

It easy to use, quick to put together reports. I guess I have more cons than pros. I would use a different software but our franchise requires this one.

Cons:

That I cant submit a report on the mobile app. Sometimes it would be helpful to submit the report on site and not have to wait till I can upload it just to down load it so that it can be submitted. Also the camera is clunky. I also dont like that if I go from looking at pictures back to comments, it takes you to where jumped off, so often I think I am inputting a note in the section a moved a picture to only to realize it was in a different section.

Reasons for switching to Home Inspector Pro

Required for the franchise purposes. I used the other with a different company.

I have been using this software for several years. Good software when working properly. I quit using the HIP camera about a month ago. It has too many issues and the company shows no urgency to fix it. This may force me to switch to a different product if the issues continue.

Ease of use. Ability to customize. Continuous pictures is actually what lured me to the product, but I no longer use HIP camera because of the constant issues.

Cons:

The HIP camera. This may eventually force me to change products if issues are not resolved. The pictures do not focus correctly. I have to tap the screen for every picture that I take. I would get at 5 pictures with a super bright flash while using the HIP camera. I would also like to see a better looking arrow for picture editing. If I keep the line thickness too thin, then I can't see the graphic, but if I make it too thick it makes the arrow head blend together and it looks like a dot.

Hip is okay, but not nothing to write home about.

I used HIP from 2021 till 2025. Mostly because the report customization. But mobile reporting is slow and there are always issues. HIP office is not the best. I used NXT inspect for years till it was discontinued 😕. Then used isn. As hip office is not good at all.

Home inspector pro office scheduler, slow onsite reporting with mobile app. I used a point and shoot camera most inspections.

HIP crates customized reports

I like using HIP and know it is the right option for my operation. My ability to make radon, sewer, residential, commercial, and maintenance reports has served my business well.

I love the ability and opportunity that I have to customize my templates. I have made new templates for every type of inspection we offer.

Cons:

Operating a multi inspector firm as I did, I had issues maintaining the templates on multiple computers.

Keeping it simple

Auto save and manually saved items are never lost, customer service excelent, when you call or chat with support team they will fix any problem the first time.

From the beginning , I would say having the ahit template already in the hip software made the transition easy. Then learning how to build your own template was not hard at all.And I get to work on it on a regular basis. Once I got the\nStationary and the custom cover page completed.My reports turn out so pretty and informative and mainly simple to read my clients.Love it. Value is awesome.I actually own my template, which is on my desktop.My laptop and for the mobile app and using hip office light is only a dollar a day. The inspectors now are so fast. Because now I can navigate on a small 5 inch tablet on the job site and go in and out of several different sections of the inspection report, standing in one place, catching exterior plumbing roofing issues back-and-forth very quick on the fly.. the reporting software, when it goes out to the client and the agent that's very simple\nEasy to use program agents and clients love it . One thing recently I've seen is that people will look on their report, and they will view it on their phone, and they just don't get the full story. And in those situations, you almost have to have everything in the summary page, you can't leave it in the body, cause they'll never find it. If you have 400 pictures, you have to scroll through the Report on the phone one pick is just too slow.Nothing we can do about it.It's a phone they need to go to their computer or their laptop.\nAnd that's true with any inspection template, hip inspection software and hip office is making my day ghost smooth.And now i've added my hip scheduling app to my spectoral website that is huge. Next thing is , get the elf site and google reviews on my website live.., The support staff is always quick to answer the phone 6 days a week. For me, on the East Coast, I can contact support between 8 AM and 10 PM Eastern standard time and actually talk to a real support person that can actually take over my screen.

Cons:

Everything's fine. There is nothing that I like. Least, if you don't purchase this software and get the custom page and learn to use the hip office, you will never notice the full\n Experience of how this program helps you.

Best Report System Ever! HIP

The ease of use and the value of the system is perfect. The quality of the report is admired by all of our realtors. I often hear that they wish other inspectors used our chosen HIP system.

HIP has been the best reporting system over the years. I used several other reporting systems before using and implementing Home Inspector Pro. When I first met [sensitive content hidden] he focused on customer needs... his team continues to do the same.

Cons:

Building the first set of HDF files... I found this super important to do and once I understood the importance, I was able to adapt and make this an focus point to learn and implement.

Used to be a Five Star product.

Overall the product serves my needs, but leaves me wanting a lot more on the office side for scheduling features and Order setup features. If I do not see improvements in these areas at some point I will likely look for other options. I was a NXT user for scheduling and absolutely loved the flexibility and features within that product. It's a shame when they close down that their office interface could not have been integrated into hip office since they were owned by the same parent company.

The biggest Pro is the flexibility to adjust and tailor inspection templates to your specific needs.

Cons:

Currently the support service and updating features in HIP office is the biggest downside to this product. Things that were asked about years ago, that were allegedly in the pipeline for updates still have not happened. There's also a noticeable lack of follow up from the hip team on the Facebook forums. I have gotten to the point where if I have an issue I just work backwards to resolve it myself if I can or reach out to other inspectors I know that use the product.
