An excellent tool for resource management

Resource Guru has helped my team to go beyond ordinary workflow and project management, and efficiently manage projects, saving time and efforts. It is a value for money product.

Pros:

It is a great resource management tool, with a user-friendly interface, It has a lot of powerful tools and is easy to learn and use. A big positive of this software is its capability to easily integrate with other tools. It helps to easily and remotely track and manage modules, projects and even workflows.

Cons:

A few times, connectivity issues are being encountered while remote access. Also, customer support can be enhanced. Otherwise, it is a good tool to use.

Best KB Around

It has been very, very, very helpful with my business. We use it on a daily basis - multiple times a day. We are constantly updating our knowledge base and Guru has made this so easy.

Pros:

Guru is amazing. The amount of knowledge you can pour into it and organize is insane. It is so easy to use. It is also so easy to collaborate on knowledge base cards with team members. We have yet to run into any bugs or issues. The customization is key here, because you can set it up however you want. Very helpful.

Cons:

Support does not always get back to us in a very timely manner, but when they do, they are awesome at it.

Reasons for switching to Resource Guru

Microsoft OneNote only has so many capabilities. Guru far surpasses this.

The only issue I had with Resource Guru was when a co-worker scheduled something and it needed to be changed, but she wasn't working.

An adequate calendaring tool for resource management

We use Resource Guru to manage the utilization/booking of our research facilities. This works well for us as we have a small number of facilities we manage. I cannot offer a recommendation for/against this project for large numbers of resources (>10) as it might be cumbersome at that point. For our limited resource pool, it works well.

Pros:

The interface is simple to use and understand with respect to resource availability and conflict. It serves its purpose well.

Cons:

New feature rollout is buggy. When I switched between the "beta" ("new") experience back to the classic, I received a nagging email from the company telling me I had recently logged in using the "classic" experience and it would eventually be discontinued, and that I should try out the "new" experience. This product is basically a shared calendar, and while it offers reporting that is a hybrid somewhere between Microsoft Outlook and Project, it's a bit too pushy with respect to new features.

We needed to share this message because the old schedule will shortly be retired, and we didn't want people to be taken by surprise by that. As long as you click the cross to close the message, it won't reappear for you. I also wanted to take the opportunity to reassure you about the new schedule. It's a vast improvement on the old one - it's been completely rebuilt from the ground up to provide lightning fast scheduling, infinite scrolling, lots of enhancements including elastic overtime, and it's just as stable for incredibly large teams as it is for very small ones. Easy to use

Easy to use and pull up. When I need to find something or look back at job helps to be able to pull it up quick. And it’s there and fast . Love the layout , very detail but yet very basic

No issues like very much. Really nothing bad I can say about it the more you play with it the easier it is to use

Pros:

Resource Guru is super simple to use and has a modern clean look. It makes team collaboration easy, and through user access permissions ensures that only users that should update schedules can. The customer support team are really quick to help when needed and can't ask for more for the price.

Cons:

There is nothing that I dislike about Resource Guru, it provides all the functionality I need in an easy to use interface.

The graphics and visual interface. It is very easy to manage resources availability and billability rates, also quite like how easy it is to book and re-book events.

Cons:

Reports on projects (how many hours sold versus booked)

Easy set up; visual interface and abblity to move, copy and repeat events; also custom fields

Reasons for switching to Resource Guru

Excel was getting to heavy and hard to manage; also very prone to human error
