About backdocket

backdocket is a legal case and document management solution that helps law firms streamline processes related to task tracking, event scheduling, approval monitoring and more from within a unified platform. It allows team members to manage workflows and track the timelines across multiple records requests.

backdocket's contact management module enables staff members to capture contact data, upload digital signatures, create relationships, access associated cases and upload relevant documents, among other processes. It lets employees access tasks based on specific users, receive daily task digests and track task progress across multiple statuses, including pending, in progress, behind schedule and completes. Additionally, it allows users to book resources, schedule recurring events, manage search processes and monitor leads.

backdocket enables businesses to integrate the platform with several third-party solutions, such as Marketo, MailChimp, Office 365 and Call Rail. It is available on monthly subscriptions and support is extended via email, online forms and other online measures.

Pros:
Very user-friendly. We can access it from any device. The attorneys can easily assign tasks to paralegals and legal staff. Everyone uses the notes feature to see the current status of the case is.
Cons:
Any issue we've had we've emailed [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and his team and they have worked to fix it.

Reasons for switching to backdocket

We wanted a cloud-based case management software. Our old software was only accessible from our work PC as it was linked to our server. During COVID shutdowns we weren't able to access it from our home computers.

My overall experience with Backdocket was positive it felt like a powerful, customizable practice management tool that centralizes cases, tasks, and reporting in one place, though it took a little time to learn and didn’t include all the bells and whistles of more established legacy platforms.

Backdocket has all of the features that you expect from a Practice Management System: Case Management, Contact Management, Task Management, Calendaring, Marketing Management. What really sets this platform apart is their ability to create custom fields, put them where you want them, and then quickly write custom reports against them.
Cons:
They are a young system and they are currently adding new features. At this point in time, they do not have the ability to text from the software, but it is on their road map.

The Best of the Rest!

I have used 4-5 of the major players in case management software in the past, and BackDocket is by far the best case management software that I have ever used. It has all of the features necessary to manage client matters as well as firm management. The price is extremely affordable, and the support staff is highly responsive, which is more than I can say for other softwares.

Software is easy to use and customize. There are so many great features built in already, but the reporting feature allows me to build any reports I need to track something individually. Reporting and Dashboards are second to none. Support is very responsive and is quick to build in new features.
Cons:
I don't have anything bad to say about the software. The support team is highly responsive and easy to work with.

Backdocket has allowed me with single touches of a button to access, manage and efficiently work on a client's file. It's a one stop shop and I don't have to juggle opening different programs to look for something in a client's file. It's all managed in one easy access file.

Way better than other file management software

LOVE!!! The customer service is AMAZING. These people care whether the software is meeting your unique needs. They respond quickly and have tons of VIDEOS to walk you through what you don't know, so you don't have to waste valuable time calling a tech person or googling what to try.

Pros:
I love that it displays all documents in the case file as once, as opposed to similar file management software that requires you to click on each folder in order to see its contents. I used to waste so much time clicking through empty folders looking to case documents. This software makes managing cases a breeze.
Cons:
This may already be a feature that I have not learned to properly utilize yet, but file sharing via link (like you can in dropbox) would be great.

Backdocket is both intuitive and easy to use. The administration is easy and most importantly, forgiving. As an incredible bonus, the support team and programmers are tremendous! They think with the end-user in mind, are quick to resolve issues and deploy legitimate product enhancements/features.
Cons:
Currently, the software does not have email integration, but it is on the roadmap for inclusion soon.

Great software at a great price

Backdocket has been an easy and cost-effective way for my firm to manage its cases. The set-up process was smooth and simple and if issues arise or if I have questions on how to do something, the support I've received has been top notch.

The best thing about backdocket, besides the ease of use, is the price.
Cons:
I wish there was an add-in feature with Outlook so that my emails could automatically be copied into the notes section of backdocket. Also, syncing with QuickBooks Online would be very helpful.

You are in luck! We are feverishly working on a communications module that will allow you send/receive Texts and Emails directly from backdocket. You will also be able to use our advanced search to schedule mass emails/texts. The communication module will include add-ins for Outlook and Google. This allows you to work in those tools and keep backdocket in the know. The QuickBooks integration will be following quickly on the heels of the Communication Module.
