My Experience With Brilliant Directories

Their are so many levels of active, prompt, and caring support. From the BD bot in the site, to the FB community, to the support ticket staff. The staff are always so polite, positive, thorough, and complete in their response and remedy of support tickets. They make sure that your answers get resolved. I have not ever had this high level of support before from any other business and I have worked online with many online businesses (software/website developers) since 2008. The founder really cares about this success and functions of his directory with his buyers/customers- he is 100% active answering questions and always looking for ways to expand and improve with the needs of his customers. [sensitive content hidden] is always present and very hands on in helping his customers!

Everything! They are ahead of the game and have thought of what I needed for my Directory, before I even realized that I needed the feature..as they had already taken care of including the features in the many directions & levels I wish to take my site. They have included so many features and abilities to edit the site to my specifications, that hiring a developer to customize is usually not necessary. Their website is so robust, can handle all of these manipulations- I've worked with many websites and BD is far the strongest. The esthetics is beautiful and comes with wide variety of options/color palettes. I found myself on 1st page after setting up in a few days- the SEO setup is amazing with BD.

I have seen one other directory that was popular and it did not have near as many options as BD. The other was over 10 years ago and no longer in business

Very Useful Platform for a Directory Startup

We could never have gotten our directory up and running with Brilliant Directories, or something like it.

Pros:

Brilliant Directories offers all of the features that any directory needs. It's easy to add options such as: coupons, photos, videos, and blogs, as well as different membership levels. Importing and exporting data is also quite simple.

Cons:

By necessity, this software is quite complex. This isn't a flaw - it's just the way a quality directory is. It takes time to learn everything that you need to know to get a directory up and running. Consequently, I recommend starting out with a very specific market niche, and a limited number of features. "Bells and whistles" can later be introduced as upgrades.

Great tool for sororities and fraternities

My overall experience customizing the tool to make it our own has been great. I haven't needed support because the documentation is top-notch. I look forward to sharing this fantastic tool with our members.

Pros:

First, the team is fantastic and responsive. Second, my organization has been looking for a way to manage our membership data and payments. This product goes above and beyond what we wanted in a membership management solution! The ability to look each other up, have our calendars at our fingertips, simplify online payments for different membership types, and apply our branding to all of it is fantastic! The more I dig in to customize our site, the more I like this as our one-stop shop. Wait! And it's affordable!!!

Cons:

Finding where to customize things can be a bit complicated. I would also love it if there were a place to store our brand colors and fonts and have those choices appear in the appropriate pickers.

A good solution with great potential.

I had to resolve an issue late at night, well after their closing hours, and I honestly didn’t expect a response until the next day. To my surprise, I got help and had the issue resolved in less than 30 minutes the same day. I really can’t complain. Great experience overall!

I really like how flexible Brilliant Directories is. If you’re just starting out it is really easy to use, but if you’re more techie and have web development experience, there’s a lot of advanced options to explore. The support team is on point. They’re quick to respond and super helpful, even after regular hours.

Cons:

The only downside right now is that advanced customizations can be a bit tricky. You have to dig into the pages, and the code sections are split across a lot of different areas, which makes it a little harder to manage. If they can make this easier it will be almost perfect.

Intuitive community website alternative to Kajabi

Overall it is pretty simple and straight forward to start but will need time to get it to the point where I want things to flow within my community.

Fairly easy to set up and get started right of the bat. They do have quick set up tutorials which make things a bit easier just to get the site up. Just like anything else though, to get it to your liking is going to take some time.

Cons:

The UI seems a little bit dated but so far that is the only thing that I have found so far as I am new and still getting to know the layout of the land.
