About groundHog

groundHog is a cloud-based and on-premise fleet management solution, designed to help underground mines and aggregates manage production, track workforce and automate equipment or site inspections. Features include data collection, compliance management, auditing and real-time messaging.

The application enables supervisors to create schedules by using the command center feature and send them across various devices according to mine operator shifts. Using the capability matrix, managers can assign equipment based on skill and effectiveness index of operators. groundHog also helps supervisors manage downtime and delays across sites and plan maintenance activities. Managers can use the analytics module to track mining progress by measuring advance rates, footage and haulage.

groundHog offers integration with various third-party applications such as Deswik.Sched, Deswik.IS, Deswik.OPS and more. It comes with mobile applications for iOS and Android. Pricing for the solution is available on request and support is provided via phone, documentation and other online measures.

Easy to use SIC and FMS

All pretty good. They came in and set it up in about 2 weeks or so. We first started using the OpsCenter with our dispatch operators. Then, we slowly deployed the iPads to the supervisors to manage work underground especially the production advance rates and tonnage. Then, we installed iPads on all our equipment. And now, we also track haul cycle time, downs and delays, we send cut sheets, drilling standards, and other files to all our miners underground.

Pros:

1. Works very well in our underground mines 2. Works on iPads and Android Tablets 3. Excellent Support 4. Price -- compared to standard FMS from the CAT, Komatsu, Sandvik and others. 5. out-of-the box metrics. They also have a mine managers app that is extremely handy.

Cons:

None really ... we are giving all of our supervisors ipads to use underground.

Reasons for switching to groundHog

Pitram does not work well underground. It was all based on miners calling in to dispatch. That process was very error prone. groundHog is so much better!
