About Microsoft Lens

Microsoft Lens (formerly Microsoft Office Lens) is an application for iOS and Android devices that lets users capture documents, whiteboards, business cards, and other physical content with their device's camera, then converts it into PDF, Word and PowerPoint files which can be saved either on the device or in the cloud, through OneDrive integration. Handwritten and typed text is automatically recognized thanks to optical character recognition (OCR), enabling the extraction of text for later searching or editing as needed.

Microsoft Lens can be used to store and organize notes, documents and receipts, capture end-of-meeting action items, scan meeting notes to edit and share with colleagues, scan business cards directly into contacts apps, and by students to digitize their notes or classroom whiteboards.

Streamline your workflow with the power of OCR in Microsoft Lens

    5

The platform's OCR technology allows the users to accurately extract text from images and documents, and the platform's integration with other Microsoft apps, such as OneNote and Word, makes it easy to organize and share scanned documents and images. Microsoft Lens is a valuable tool for anyone looking to digitize and manage physical documents and images.

    Pros:
OCR allows Microsoft Lens to accurately extract text from images and documents, even in cases where the text is partially obscured or has unusual formatting. This makes it an invaluable tool for digitizing physical documents and converting them into digital formats, such as PDFs and Eod documents. The accuracy and reliability of the OCR technology are what make Microsoft Lens a standout tool in my opinion.
    Cons:
Microsoft Lens allows users to extract and analyze data from images and documents, but the visualization options may be somewhat limited. Adding more advanced charting and graphing capabilities could make it easier for users to communicate insights and trends derived from the extracted data.

It is a great addition for Microsoft Office as you can just take Photo's of business cards and receipts while saving them all to one folder. This way you have your contacts in one place and your receipts in one place during Tax Season.

    Pros:
This software/app integrates easily with your mobile office and various applications such as One Note, PowerPoint, PDF etc. It was easy to install and use. On the whiteboard option it really clears up your pictures for a presentation. It easily saves your Photo or Document to multiple platforms. Great for taking Photo's of business cards and receipts and keeping them in one folder.
    Cons:
It takes a while to save to PowerPoint and it fails at converting all documents to text in the Mobile Word Platform. Needs some work converting documents to Word text.

    Reasons for choosing Microsoft Lens

It integrated easily into my current Microsoft applications that I use daily.

    Pros:
I have been using Microsoft office lens for more than two years now. I find it is a great improvement to what I was previously using. The Best feature that I like about this app is that it auto detects and crops the subject during picture clicking and saves time, unlike other apps where auto cropping is done as a post processing part. Being a free tool, office lens offers OCR feature for exporting to text format in PDF and Word, which is often missing in the free versions of peer apps . Thirdly, It doesn't add a watermark to the output files.
    Cons:
The user should be allowed to tweak the parameters that control the picture quality. Some peer apps have the option of regulating the contrast, sharpness, details and brightness as soon as the pictures are clicked and cropped. Second, office lens should support more options than scanning from just documents, business cards, etc (for example, powerpoints and greeting cards offered in peer apps).

Reasons for switching to Microsoft Lens

I found Office Lens was produced by Microsoft. Given the brand name, I thought it will be better app.

The scanning software is amazing it does there's no smudges there's no glare when you skating any type of documents they come out at looking just like you type them up it's perfect for office use. The pros for me is as far as getting in the home photos and memories. Office lens make photo's pop. office lens has the ability to take to make older faded worn photos look like you just snapped the picture yesterday. I've never had to go in and enhance a photo with office lens or change anything I could just scan it in and make a print copy beautifully. I had a free trial and ended up switching and not going back to my old Lenox.
    Cons:
I like you too. It's very easy software to use.

Reasons for switching to Microsoft Lens

The comparison of the way paperwork looked. Storing photos and memories into my computer when you scanned them in office lens they looked beautiful. You could spend a dollar bill and it looks like a dollar bill there's no does it change the quality of the photo at all it looks perfect beautiful the colors are magnificent.

Scanning Made Easy with Office Lens

    5

Microsoft Office Lens is a reliable tool that provides scanning services for free but with maximum quality. On top of all these perks, it's just a click away from your smartphone. I use it during meetings when I don't have with me my laptop, or at moments when I need to take a super clear shot on any document such as memos, announcements, or even receipts at supermarkets or hardware stores which I could use as a proof of purchase or for reimbursements. Thanks, Microsoft!

    Pros:
Microsoft Office Lens solves the day whenever a need for crystal-clear scanning of photos or documents arises. It's the go-to application when you're out and suddenly feel the need for a handy mobile scanner, realizing that it's an application in your smartphone. The tool is easy-to-use although the walk-through tutorial upon installing it is of great help too. The buttons' functions are simple yet so powerful. I use it a lot in scanning documents and taking snapshots of words written on a whiteboard. It's also a recommended software for taking random shots whose quality are at par with those of other top applications out in the market, or maybe better.
    Cons:
The scanning feature is one of the best and it's so reliable when used. If I may suggest though, the focusing task is sometimes a little annoying especially if the correct shape or outline is not easily met. But overall, it's best at what it does which is performing like an actual scanning machine.
