Enterprise rich content management

The initial setup and configuration require planning from all concerned parties to get it off the ground smoothly. Once the system is setup, it is virtually problem free. Like any other self hosted software solution, you must continuallty monitor it for health. And the customer support is some of the best that I've encoutered in my more then 25 years in I.T. Managment.

1) The editing functions are very limited2) The re-encoding time is really slow.2) The download feature is extremely slow and cumbersome.4) The sharing of individual links in the Channels is not there, but it use to be available in Catalogs.

Mediasite keep all of my companies videos neatly organized, with a simple interface for users to watch them.

Cons:

The management side of the software can be a bit clunky and confusing. There is a lot of menus inside of other menus and it is easy to get lost.

We use mediasite on a daily basis and is great at capture videos, editing recordings, and distributing these videos evenly throughout the department as needed.

Cons:

The accessibility amongst my colleagues to take over my admin duties with mediasite can be difficult but something that could be worked on.

I like the ease of use to create/schedule recordings and content management.

Cons:

I find that processing the videos and captures take a long a time, even for short videos. Editing or cutting videos also take a long time to process. In additional, uploading a small 50 Mb video to mediasite can balloon to several hundred Mb or even Gb.

Easy to use. Customer support is amazing! Always answer the phone and go out of their way to help.

Cons:

Price is very expensive. But you get what you pay for. You are really paying for the mediasite experience and the customer support. The recorders themselves are just customized windows PC's.

We switched away

My first task in my original position was to migrate content from mediasite to our new server, it took about 2 weeks to learn how to find "hidden" names in order to sort and rename the videos for the upload. If they have made major changes to the platform, I would be interested in hearing what they've done as the quality was good for the time

Capture cart in the classroom was nice, but clunky in the debate of cloud/on-site storage the on-site means you have full control of data

automatic names were so difficult to navigate that it seemed like they were designed to make switching away more difficult

I’ve used this software for a little over a year and I’m happy to have done so. It is very easy to use and I’m in aw of the customer support. Always so ready to help and they do know a lot about the product they are offering as opposed to some other companies. I love it for all my video management needs.

Cons:

I honestly cannot say that I have an issue with this software. It has served me well.
