Pros:

I really like the project collaboration facilitated by Laser AI. The platform lets project managers assign roles, define access permissions, and track progress across different stages of the review. This structured organization helps my team coordinate complex reviews, monitor contributions, and avoid miscommunication. I also have received timely customer support, which has been wonderful experience.

Cons:

One limitation is that Laser AI is not very mobile-friendly. While it works well on a desktop or laptop, it’s difficult to perform meaningful screening or review tasks on a phone or tablet, which limits flexibility when working on the go. Another is that some actions and decisions are not easy to reverse. For example, switching a task or project from a single-reviewer setup to a duplicate review workflow is not straightforward once work has started.

Some limitations and suggestions could be implemented. First, it would be beneficial to include a dedicated tab for duplicates, allowing users to organize and manage them more effectively. Currently, I had to manually record duplicate entries using the comment section. Additionally, enabling users to edit abstracts directly within the software would be highly valuable—especially in cases where abstracts are missing or incomplete in the exported files, requiring manual insertion from the original sources. Finally, I experienced occasional software slowdowns or freezing; however, it is unclear whether these issues were related to the platform itself or to local internet connectivity.

I liked that Laser AI facilitated the flow of work. The steps required to be performed in each stage of systematically reviewing literature are mapped out well. Additionally, troubleshooting is simple since the team responds to queries promptly.

Cons:

Since the nature of literature in my project is legal cases, many AI models were not available to detect text in such documents. This prompted me to create vocabulary fields, limiting the type and amount of data that needed to be extracted. Moreover, I did not grasp the need to upload the references and pdfs separately and ensure that the pdfs match with the uploaded reference.

Laser AI is an excellent platform for systematic reviews in health research. The interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making the screening and data extraction processes much more efficient. I also value the collaborative features, which allow multiple reviewers to work on the same project with transparency.

Cons:

The main issue I experienced is with the reference loading process. The platform currently loads items in batches of 50, and every time I request the next 50, it scrolls back to the first study on the list, which is unproductive. Another limitation is in task distribution: it would be very helpful to have the option to assign 100% of the references to two reviewers for independent screening.

The user interface was easy to manage, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. I enjoyed having the ability to use keyboard shortcuts to include/exclude studies, as well as being able to full-screen individual studies for further analysis.

Cons:

The pages often are stuck buffering, and intervals between excluding/including also take time to load. It would be nice to see a reduction in loading and buffer time.
