It is the best tool or platform for creating documents.

    4

I'm making folders to organize my documents and make them available from any device, and it also allows me to work with others. Any file we work on is automatically saved, so there is never a problem with data loss. Instead of overwriting it, Dropbox creates another version for changes we make to documents, allowing us to seamlessly revert any written changes by going to a previous version of the document, which is useful when writing code and running into errors while expanding it. It solves our problem of finding a location to store all of our information; it's simple to organize and generate documents; and I enjoy making folders.

    Pros:
Dropbox Paper is a simple and easy platform for producing papers and communicating with others; it takes little to no time to set up documents, and users have the option to personalize documents to meet their own needs. You may import material from other websites, such as photographs, movies, and GIFs. It is a comprehensive collaboration tool, and one of the finest features is list generation; you may have to-do lists, bulleted lists, numbered lists, and so on.
    Cons:
The UI may be difficult to use, and it's not always straightforward to discover the functions I require. Furthermore, the Dropbox role does not always function properly with other apps, so I have to troubleshoot a few times.

So simple, but very power for organization and task coordination

Paper is, for my team, the ideal replacement for hardcopy notes and simple assignments. Too many alternatives try doing too much in a small window of use. Dropbox Paper keeps you connected, on the same page, and mobile when need be.

    Pros:
The most powerful feature for us (working in software) has been the simplistic yet powerful markup and shortcuts system. The formatting is so easy to use but also isn't restricted to one method, allowing more mouse-centric or keyboard-oriented users flexability.
    Cons:
I wouldn't mind seeing a dedicated desktop application in addition to the browser interface. Even if it was just a PWA, it would keep users from being so married to more tabs in their web browser.

    Reasons for choosing Dropbox Paper

After very little time in a 'test drive' mode, Paper made it clear it was the right fit for our needs. No bloat and unused feature sets with reasonable pricing sealed the deal.

    Cons:
More sophisticated project needs like modifying it in any way and notifying the members each time is not as efficient. Also, everyone on the team needs to have access to dropbox paper to use most of the features.

A better version of Google Docs

    Pros:
Easy to use, perfect for groups working on projects. Not only can you share documents, but you also can get updates from different group members. In some ways, it's like a mix of Google Docs and Stack.
    Cons:
Nothing really. It's works well, both on wifi and using data on phones and laptops. It doesn't take long to train an employee to use it successfully.

Reasons for switching to Dropbox Paper

At the time, Google Docs had issues working on some browsers. That created problems where we had some employees able to access the documents and others couldn't. Dropbox Paper solved that problem.

Great product for teams that are based in Dropbox. But if you're a lone-ranger in Dropbox and your team is in Google Workspace, you'll find it challenging to actually leverage either system for all of their benefits.

    Pros:
I like the ease of use. The command button, the keyboard shortcuts, and the fact that it was integrated in my file system worked great.
    Cons:
When I used Dropbox Paper, task management didn't feel like the purpose of the platform. It seemed like it wanted to give me an alternative to Google Docs. And, it sort of does, but largely didn't. I still needed to interact with my email which was in Gmail so I couldn't truly escape the Gmail ecosystem.

    Reasons for choosing Dropbox Paper

Ultimately, I didn't. I reverted to Google Workspace because the people I was interfacing with most used Google Workspace AND I needed to access my own email which was in Google Workspace and the disconnect seemed like too much.

Reasons for switching to Dropbox Paper

I was optimistic about the integration with the Dropbox ecosystem.

    Pros:
I liked the easiness of using the app. It's really simple to create a document, edit it, and even share it within the organization. It has a quite dynamic development.
    Cons:
Files organization and search. Unless you are the master of structures, you may find it hard to find a document among hundreds of others. What's more, it's sometimes hard to tell what Paper is really for: it's not exactly a good replacement for Google Docs, neither as for documentation tools like Confluence or Notion. The simplicity has its price.

Reasons for switching to Dropbox Paper

Confluence was suffering from a few annoying bugs and is not as user-friendly as Paper.

    Pros:
I think the Dropbox Paper feature is fairly new. It has a great general layout where you have the ability to create tables, explain the document, make a to-do list and tag people plus make a timeline. You can highlight text or leave comments directly in the document which makes tracking progress and decisions super easy.
    Cons:
I really wish the to-do list had a capability to automotically put the dates in chronological order and add them to the timeline. Right now the option is there, but it is all manual. Plus, I could use more highlight color options for color coding!

Reasons for switching to Dropbox Paper

We were filling up our Basecamp storage and were looking for an option with a better search and organization capabilities. We still use Basecamp in conjunction with Dropbox.

    Pros:
Dropbox paper is free with your Dropbox account and the two work great together. Paper files don't use a lot of storage space. The documents don't cut off or split. Easy access, easy sharing, and smart sync are amazing pros. I was surprised that occasionally little creative or motivational messages will pop up. Allowing teams to work on documents together and add comments makes Dropbox paper great for teams.
    Cons:
If you don't want to use Dropbox or decide you no longer want to use it, you won't be able to access Dropbox paper. To access your documents offline you'll need to download them.. It's a simple setup but I didn't think it was very intuitive. It's just not as powerful or robust as the others out there, period.

Reasons for switching to Dropbox Paper

We had already switched to Dropbox Business for cloud storage, it made sense to use all of the services offered.
