About ScaleXP

ScaleXP helps businesses manage spreadsheets and reporting activities via a unified portal. It automates deferred revenue and consolidation across multiple entities, even those that use different accounting systems and currencies.

ScaleXP's text recognition algorithms automate date recognition across invoices, eliminating the need for spreadsheets to track deferred revenue and customer behavior. It helps automate industry-specific metrics, including key SaaS metrics and measures related to customer such as MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), customer lifetime value, customer retention, churn rates, and CAC (customer acquisition cost).

ScaleXP also automates prepayment expense recognition, allocating costs to the relevant month without the need for spreadsheets. For companies with more than one country or legal entity, the system consolidates accounts immediately as soon as the accounting systems are connected, providing instant KPIs with customizable reports, dashboards, and presentations. Data can be shared in multiple ways using dashboards or presentations that update in real-time.

        ScaleXP has been a fantastic addition to our workflow. The platform is very intuitive and easy to navigate, making onboarding quick for the whole team. The dashboard and data visualisation tools are particularly strong - they give clear, actionable insights without needing a lot of manual setup. We’ve also found the invoicing features to be efficient and reliable, saving us a lot of time. Customer support has been responsive and helpful whenever we’ve had questions, and the overall value for money is excellent given the range of features included.
        Cons:
        There’s very little to dislike, but there are a few areas that could be improved. Some of the data management features could be a bit more flexible, especially when handling more complex or customised datasets.

        Happy from Maxio to ScaleXP!

        The product is very well thought out. The GUI is nice. The team is responsive. We switched from Maxio after using them for several years and are much happier...not to mention, grateful for the lower pricing!

        Flexible revenue recognition...on par if not better than Maxio, our previous revenue recognition vendor. We love the customer waterfall feature and the ability to catch errors and correct on the spot. Also love the clever way to treat prepaid usage and the ability to find and amortize prepaid expenses.
        Cons:
        Sometimes it can be pokey loading data, but has not been much of an issue.

        Reasons for choosing ScaleXP

        ScaleXP met all of our needs out of the box. TrueRev was not as complete of a product and didn't met our unique revenue recognition needs out of the boxs.

        Reasons for switching to ScaleXP

        To complex and way more expensive. We keep running in to broken transaction links and hiccups with some of our complex invoices.

        It connects with our Xero accounting system and automates our revenue recognition saving us time and reducing the risk of errors. It also enables insight into business performance through the ARR waterfall and dashboards.
        Cons:
        At times there have been changes to methodology with little warning resulting in historic figures being changed and work being needed on our side to fix this.

        Invoicing information is easily available and deferred revenue is no longer a time consuming task. Accruing revenue is easy and simple!
        Cons:
        It doesn't allocate credit notes to invoices like in Xero, so when you pull a "Line item detail" report you need to match these off manually to get the left over line items that are still valid for that customer.
