About Loom

Loom is a video recording and screen sharing solution that allows teams to communicate with ease, without wasting hours of productivity from non-productive meetings. Loom includes fast recording, screen sharing, link sharing, video editing, emoji reactions and comments, access controls, and advanced reporting.

Users are able to use Loom to record their screen or a specific application in addition to live recording for any video session. Loom generates a custom URL for every video session, which allows video owners to share links to other users. Loom's editing tools allow users to edit, trim, and add CTAs and custom thumbnails. Video owners can use access controls to set privacy filters for videos to restrict visibility for users who don't have a password or URL link.

Loom is available for Apple mobile devices via an iOS app. Loom offers a free version with limited capabilities and also offers pricing plans for three different tiers, billed per user, per month.

A better way to check-in with team members

I have enjoyed using Loom to see my employees respond to my prompts and check in with others in a more engaging way. This is way better than email responses.

Pros:

Being able to video record answers is an amazing feature and concept. I love using this to confirm meeting recordings and get simple updates from others outside of my time zone.

Cons:

There's not a lot of ability to edit the recordings as this feature is basic only. This also requires a strong internet connection to make sure it uploads correctly.

Loom for Educators

Its been amazing. As soon as you are done recording you have a copied link that you can quickly send to someone else. Its also really intuitive and takes very little or no training.

Its free FOREVER for educators. BUT its not an inferior product. Its an amazing product that we would probably pay for if it wasn't free.

Cons:

Out of all my tools on my Mac, I feel like this updates all the time. Not bad by any means, outside of a very slight inconvenience.

Loom makes it incredibly easy to record and share videos in seconds. The ability to capture both your screen and webcam is great for tutorials, walkthroughs, or quick updates. It’s intuitive, lightweight, and perfect for asynchronous communication—no need to schedule a meeting. I also like how easily it integrates with tools like Slack, Gmail, and Google Workspace, and how simple it is to share a video link with just one click.

Cons:

The free plan is pretty limited, with short video length caps and restricted storage. Editing options are also basic, so it’s not ideal if you need polished, professional video production. Occasionally, the app can glitch with audio or camera feeds, and since everything is stored in the cloud, privacy settings require attention when sharing sensitive content.

Very Disappointed – Paid $180 and No Support at all!!!!!!

We paid $180 for a monthly Loom service in May 2025, expecting it to help equip and support our team. Unfortunately, the service hasn’t been working properly since day one, and despite emailing their support three times, we’ve received no response at all. We had planned to use Loom as a key tool for our organization, but the lack of customer support has made that impossible. At this point, we either need the issue resolved immediately or a full refund. This review is our last resort to get their attention, as it’s unacceptable to pay for a service and be completely ignored.

Nice product, but disappointing customer support

Loom worked well for my needs, but my experience was soured by the lack of customer-friendly support and strict renewal rules. Disappointed by how a great product can be overshadowed by poor policy.

Recording screens get Loom

Really like the platform, they just make it easy & have not been replicated by another app that I know of yet.

That it can record your screen and share it easily. Works with Mac & Windows which is not always the case. It just works.

Cons:

They stopped their integration with Trainual when they switched owners that has been super annoying.

The chrome extension for every creator

Simple chrom extension that makes recording easy for me. I also dont have to download this recordings in order to share it with my client so bonus for that.

They save my videos forever and I appreciate that. I stil have videos I recorded on loom 4 years ago and the fact that it has not been deleted is big deal for me

You can start recording in seconds with the Chrome extension or desktop app. AI auto generates titles, summaries, chapters and more. Allows cross platform accessibility.

Cons:

The free version lacks advanced editing features and the videos are set to public by default. A little clunky on the user end.
