A really great whiteboard tool for video production

I've been using the platform now for a month and can definately see us continue using it from now on - it makes it so easy to visualise all of our project data in the one space and is really great for meetings to be able to annotate on the go to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Pros:

For our video production company Boardmix has been invaluable. It allows us to easily map out our production documents in the one space and compare schedules and storyboards instantly. I've saved time and been able to impress clients with efficiency and organisation of all of our project documents and details

Cons:

I wish you could add a few more team members without such a large price increase.

So pleasantly surprised

It's definitely the best I've tried so far and it's exciting to see it grow and see new features being added so often. I hope the price won't get too high in the future, though it should probably raise a little given what it offers!

Pros:

It's quite intuitive and easy to use and has lots of visual features that makes working on it really pleasant to the eye. As a teacher I can create engaging lessons and add a touch of colour to make certain topics less boring!

Cons:

It seems video sharing is not yet 100% working properly, I need to be able to share videos with my students, and it would be great if they could play at the same time for both the teacher and the student, but I know it's not something the other providers have achieved yet either!

Reasons for choosing Boardmix

Explain everything didn't seem really user friendly. It had auto playing animated GIFs, which is super cool and something Boardmix should consider adding, but that in itself wasn't enough.

Reasons for switching to Boardmix

Miro is incredibly expensive, plus the payment is in dollars and there additional taxes to pay at checkout. The pen tools weren't great and overall it seemed a bit too focused on other types of collaboration in business, not enough regard for creative minds

Disappointing Experience with Boardmix

My experience with Boardmix has been extremely disappointing. They repeatedly charged my credit card without authorization and provided poor customer service.

Really easy whiteboard / workflow designer

Pros:

There are heaps of templates already in place, but I haven't really used them - it's been pretty easy enough for me to just use it from scratch by dragging & dropping the items I want to use, connecting them, and renaming them. I mainly use it to map out workflows or show clients what the structure of things are going to look like. I like that it automatically works out distance between objects based on other objects already in place. I also really like that I can choose how to export my whiteboards, and can share them with others.

Cons:

Sometimes it can be a bit finnicky to make things in the right shape, or to edit text inside objects. It's not a huge issue, but it does make me feel like I'm taking longer than I should sometmes.

Reasons for switching to Boardmix

Jamboard was being discontinued by Google.

The fact that all of us can create boards and add our thoughts on it. We don’t need to be in a meeting room anymore and can efficiently work from our desks.

Cons:

Nothing at all, we love the tool. We are into the third month of using this so haven’t found many issues as such.

I like that it’s relatively easy to use for basic practices, but one who knows their way around can do more difficult project with a lot of help and practical tools.

Cons:

It was a bit hard for me to get familiar with all the tools, as some of them were unfamiliar to me. Nothing wrong with Boardmix, it’s just personal recognition.
