About IPEVO

IPEVO Annotator is an interactive whiteboard software designed to help educational institutions draw and annotate on images projected on a screen using various tools, such as spotlight, magnifying lens, ruler, protractor and scissors. Key features include screen recording, digital canvas, screenshots and collaboration.

Teams using IPEVO Annotator can broadcast screens in real-time and record onscreen activities. It allows educators to record selected areas or the entire screen and share them with colleagues and students. The platform offers a multi-pen mode, which enables two users to simultaneously work on the projected screen. Additionally, teachers can use the pen tool to annotate and draw on projected images with different effects, colors and thickness.

IPEVO Annotator also provides custom stamps, eraser, basic shapes and undo/redo options. The application is available for free and support is extended via documentation, FAQs, email and video tutorials.

Cons:

Sometimes the document camera will freeze.

Useful Collaboration and Presentation Tools

When all pieces are functioning and communicating with each other, IPEVO is a great tool to use for presenting and collaborating. In my experience, I have to be prepared to problem-solve when the technology doesn't work as intended or at all. Though this doesn't happen all the time, it happens often enough that I struggle to give this product a high rating.

Pros:

IPEVO provides a wide array of technology and resources that can be used to engage audiences. As a teacher, I am most familiar with its Presenter tool and document camera products, but there are many more materials that really add depth and collaboration to projects and presentations. IPEVO's products are simple, clean, and easy to pick and use.

Cons:

The challenging part of IPEVO for me has been how clunky and inconsistent--even unreliable--the materials have been. I know there are many factors to consider, but there have been many times that I have not been able to get the document camera to connect (or it disconnects seemingly randomly) or I have been unable to open the Presenter software or get the two to communicate with each other. This issue has presented itself on multiple devices, multiple document cameras, and with multiple versions of the software.
