About Minitab

Minitab is a cloud-based statistical tool designed to help small to large organizations across various verticals such as manufacturing, healthcare, energy, automotive or non-profit discover market trends, predict patterns and visualize data. Features include statistical modeling, data sharing, time series, simulations and distributions.

Using t-tests, one and two proportions hypothesis, normality tests, chi-square and equivalence tests, professionals can generate improved processes for designing products. Minitab enables data scientists to forecast business results through classification and regression Trees (CART) logistic regression, factor analysis and cluster variables. Engineers can gain insights using different graphical outputs including scatterplots, bubble plots, box plots and histograms. It comes with an assistant feature, which guides users through the entire analysis process and interprets results by summary, diagnostic or report cards.

Minitab offers both single-user and multi-user licensing on an annual or one-time basis and support is provided via phone and documentation.

Minitab: Letting Data Drive Successful Production Excellence

I have found Minitab to be overwhelmingly, without a doubt, positive. Such confidence is instilled in our continuous improvement initiatives with the software’s reliability to handle large datasets and produce accurate results.

Pros:

Minitab's Assistant feature distinguishes it for taking the statistical analysis by the hand to depict non-stats folk exactly what to do, step by step, for often involved statistical concepts. This is especially useful in a production environment where engineers might have little statistical background. Minitab has another distinctive feature, namely a powerful Design of Experiments (DOE) kit.

Cons:

Minitab does a great job with the statistical analysis but could do better with data visualization. Better communication of complex findings to less knowledgeable users, such as customers or managers, would be more customizable and interactive charts.

Reasons for switching to Minitab

We switched to Minitab from SPSS, which we had been using for several years. While SPSS is a capable statistical package, we found it less intuitive for our production-specific needs.

Data dashboard is so amazing by minitab AI, I think it is a good way for users to have a draft first, then follow the idea to dig in.

Cons:

So many tools, for normal users , people always get used to a few tools, minitab can be a QA consultant

Perfect. Ive used it since 1999 when I was at GE. It is an excellent general-purpose statistics platform and my "go to". The new "design space" (AI functions) look crazy amazing, but I need to learn it 1st. I just learned about it today (12/3). Can it convert ".tsv" files? This is a weird format the PatentsView exports patents in bulk.

Pros:

Ease of use, lack of need for time-wasting coding (like in R). The new design space looks incredible but I need to learn about it (I just heard of it now). Also, I forgot if Minitab has a row count limitation like Excel. I routinely go beyond the Excel limit of approx. 1mil. It is just that a lot of the data I use comes in bulk, and I have to prep it after I download it (you can look at PatentsView, a source of bulk patent data. These are GB-sized data sets in a .tsv format--a very inconvenient format). I use Minitab for almost all of my quant work except the multivariate tools like MCA or EFA. The rest is all Minitab.

Cons:

It seems weak on some data mining techniques like Multiple Correspondence analysis and Exploratory Factor analysis. That was the only reason I every used JMP. But their subscription model is expensive and a pain in the A-- to renew, so you guys should be easily able to cashier them (I plan to preplace it with KNIME anyways).

Reasons for switching to Minitab

JMP has better multivariate and EFA but they are expensive and I will replace JMP with KNIME.

Minitab provide practical data analysis for the vomplexity problem with AI support invlude professional UX/UI

Cons:

It's seem difficult for the new commer to applied all Minitab feature to capture the value by short time if you can provide the new feature like a helpdesk to provide the step to apply 6 sigma tools alternstive ways it will be the interesting working ways for the new generation on competition context. As your know your software license is seem high price for someone that don't know benefit so it need to use for a long time to get exprience so difficult to display to get the budget to plant wide to the management.

When it comes to something as complex as statistical analysis or something as simple as making graphs, Minitab is one of the most comprehensive solutions you've got there. For process control based work, the Control Charts option is just a breeze; providing results for datasets of 10k rows in a matter of seconds

Cons:

Pricing option could be a little bit more friendly. Presently, it appears to be mostly suitable at an enterprise level. Additionally, the UI could be revamped for ease of usage

Assistant was a game changer, allowing none statisticians to utilize Minitab for many of these typical used cases. I have just begun, looking at the predictive analytics and solution modules, along with AI – these will allow easier and new data insights for more people.

MINITAB AI: The new Era begins

I am just a beginner so only knows its benefits and no cons as of now. Yes locating the right path, and which tab to click that is to be explored for the particular problem such as to perform ANOVA.
