Pros:

Not very difficult to set up. Allows us to connect to our data lake without writing a custom api.

Cons:

The documentation on setting up the JDBC driver on the gateway server isn't clear. But it wasn't terrible to figure out.

Reasons for choosing ZappySys SSIS PowerPack

We are initially going to start with Precog since more development work was done with them. ZappySys came in later as an alternative. We are still considering switching to ZappySys, but a decision has not been made yet.

It's been okay overall, the software works well for what it does.

The main benefit I get from the product is dealing with the intricacies of connecting to a REST API that requires OAUTH2 authentication.

It definitely takes care of the intricacies of OAUTH2, and the fact that zappysys provides a callback url to use is very helpful.

Cons:

The fact that JSON Integration package includes the JSON Source Connector, but not the REST API/OAUTH connection to go with it is highly disappointing. It feels as if they are doing that just to get customers to spend the extra dollars, that was probably the most disappointing part of my experience. I also notice the custom token prefix setting for the REST API/OAUTH connection doesn't really work.

Regarding price / missing oauth feature in JSON Pack: We always included REST OAuth / HTTP connections part of our JSON Integration Pack so no need to buy the full pack if JSON pack meets your need to call REST API services. Regarding token prefix setting issue: We looked at your communication with our support staff but there is no mention about this issue. Pros:

ZappySys has enabled all of the tasks we have envisioned. My personal SSIS experience was old and minimal. ZappySys was able to assist in implementation of their tools plus train/assist with SSIS training/development.

Cons:

I had some problems with the initial implementation, but that was due to my overall inexperience with SSIS and Visual Studio. ZappySys was able to assist with my roll-out.

Swiss army knife for ETL.

Part of my career has been built on this tool because I was able to finish projects substantially faster with it than done any other way.

- API source and target adapters stand out the most because we can now take our data in and out of cloud services where there hasn't been a vendor making a special ODBC driver to interact with their service.- Effortless point and click configuration for 80%+ of the product.

Cons:

- Some features are still rough. The Excel source adapter needs further enhancement to loop through worksheets and functions absent that is present in the CSV adapter.

Reasons for choosing ZappySys SSIS PowerPack

The API and JSON capability and how many checkboxes that the company tries to make it point and click simple. There are products that I've integrated with that isn't listed in Capterra.

Very supportive of Zappysys SSIS Power Pack

We originally purchased the Zappy SSIS PowerPack JUST to get Excel connectors that worked easier and supported multiple versions of Excel at the same time. Our use has grown to include all ETL processes from over 23 Virtual Machines (database to database, cloud to database, database to cloud...even .txt to .txt to support data transfer from one "ancient" system to another... ;-).

Pros:

The Powerpack adds SO much functionality to SSIS...especially in the number and variety of data connectors to almost every endpoint imaginable. Zappy has thought out every combination and permutation needed for connectors to REST/Curl interfaces as well as all popular endpoints.

Cons:

Only that there is SO much flexibility...lol. The Zappy online help is really good.

No PGP encryption/decryption task, need a license for each server
