Pros:

AWS Storage Gateway is optimized for security during data transfer. It encrypts data in transit, stored in AWS S3. The Pay as you go Plan is also valid for the AWS Storage Gateway. It is easy to setup and monitor.

Cons:

You might require to learn how to use AWS Storage Gateway before using it. AWS S3, Glacier is sufficient enough, AWS Storage Gateway is another service that consumes more money if you're not good with cost optimization.
