About OpenText Universal Discovery and CMDB

Universal Discovery and Universal CMDB is a configuration management solution, which helps enterprises of all sizes manage, discover and monitor IT assets across multi-cloud, on-premise or container environment. Features include change tracking, agent and agentless discovery, data reconciliation, reporting, and multi-tenancy.

The application lets supervisors gather and normalize software or hardware data across workstations in a centralized repository, generate custom configuration policies and receive alerts for regulatory violations. It helps IT teams handle incidents and downtime through service dependency modelling and application mapping. It includes an impact simulation functionality, which allows users to detect low, medium or risky outages across the IT ecosystem.

Universal Discovery and Universal CMDB provides a REST API, which enables users to integrate with third-party applications. Pricing is available on request and support is offered via documentation and online measures.

Pros:

The uninstaller that is helpfully bundled in the ISO.

Cons:

The UCMDB Browser is meant to work out of the box. It rarely does and is nothing short of a nightmare to configure using SSL and a Load Balancer. The entire product needs to be deployable from the cloud. Configuration Manager has been deprecated entirely.

Pros:

I have never seen such a hardly established practice in my life. You need to work for hours to get a report. Most of the time CI relations are not smooth. insufficient support in Turkey. I wish I could write good things, but I'm sorry.

Cons:

Although a lot is missing as well, the product is expensive with unnecessary license. Support fees are very high.
