About Laserfiche

Laserfiche is a cloud-based and on-premise document management platform suitable for businesses of all sizes in industries such as accounting, construction, education, real estate, manufacturing and healthcare. It offers document scanning and data capture, search features, metadata modification and workflow automation tools. Laserfiche can assist with vendor and contract management, invoicing, travel and expense management and process management.

Users can scan, upload and store documents from a variety of sources. Search options for document retrieval can be configured to meet individual user’s security permissions. Workflow automation tools include rule-based actions for renaming documents and automatic emails for document updates. Laserfiche Forms allows users to create and publish electronic forms and connect them to existing workflows using a drag-and-drop interface. Authorized staff can view pending forms and keep track of next actions required.

Support is offered through an online portal. Pricing is per user per month.

Electronic archiving is one of the best ways to save on traditional archiving costs, such as storage space, paper, and printing. Electronic archiving with the Laserfiche system provided by Pioneers is also more secure and protected from the risk of cyber attacks.
Cons:
Laserfiche performance may be slower than expected when accessing large volumes. A missing database index affects the efficiency of volume calculations. This can cause some Laserfiche operations to be very slow on large repositories.

I liked that it was a small scanning system that could be uploaded directly to a cloud-based data system. It was fast, easy to install with the right IT support.
Cons:
I didn't enjoy at the time (2018-2020) how manual some of the processes were (Ie. no quick saving option) sometimes scans were corrupted and you wouldn't know until the entire batch was processed.
