About Beam AI

Beam AI is an end-to-end takeoff software for general contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers. It fully automates the takeoff process, eliminating the need for endless screen clicking or sifting through numerous plan sheets. Users can upload the site plan, set the work scope, and let Beam AI streamline the workflow. The software supports all trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, landscape, asphalt, concrete, drywall, flooring, masonry, insulation, painting, irrigation, steel, woodwork, and earthwork, offering comprehensive automation for accurate estimates.

With Beam AI, teams can manage more estimates, allowing them to focus on refining estimates, value engineering analysis, vendor discussions, and customer service. Completed takeoffs are sent directly to the inbox with clear, color-coded HD sitemaps and can be exported in various formats.

Beam AI Concrete Construction

Beam AI has been great for us estimators allowing us to take on more projects. The program is very user friendly. One of my favorite features is uploading updated plans/addendums to a plan we have already submitted. It does a great job at illustrating the changes that have been made.

Pros:

We have 3 full time estimators and Beam AI helps us multitask. We have several projects to work on at a time, so while Beam AI is working on providing the takeoff and quantities, we are able to work on other projects. The program is very user friendly and is very helpful when addendums come in.

Cons:

My biggest drawback to Beam AI is if we have a project that may take a long time to be in the review phase in the program, and with a short amount of time between the due date and when the invite to the project was sent, we have been unable to have the results back in time.

Detailed take offs, when questions need to be answer there are quick responses to our inquire and revisions happen fast

Cons:

Sometimes the turn around time for these take a bit longer than expected but we understand sometimes the project is bigger than others and can take time

I like the ease of use and their customer service assistance. The layout and takeoffs are easy to use.

Cons:

Some errors on take offs - but they are quick to fix any issues that I bring to them. Sometimes the mark ups call out the incorrect product heights.

Just upload your documents. That's it! This opens up the door for things that may have been set aside - it gives you the time to catch up while you know that the takeoff is still being completed.

Cons:

The reporting that is received - particularly the excel format does not group each item to a specific scope. For example, sanitary sewer items are mixed with water main and storm sewer which makes it a little difficult to follow.

Exceptional Customer Support, Beam AI’s support team super responsive, knowledgeable, and committed to solving issues. This level of service helps my business transition smoothly into AI-driven workflows. Cons:

Took awhile for us to get used to the tools available for manual takeoffs since we were accustom to STACK.

I like the fact that we were able to build the excel spreadsheet to our needs. Much easier than using a standard platform for bids.

Cons:

The video introduction states takes offs in 24-72 hours. Typically we have been getting the take off in 5-6 days.

Beam AI: Efficient Estimation Partner

My experience so far with Beam AI has been excellent. The estimates I receive from Beam have a quicker turn-around than any other solution we've used so far. Not only is the estimation process more efficient now, but the takeoffs we receive are also incredibly accurate, which was a pleasant surprise given the quick turn-around.

Pros:

Through my current use of Beam AI, I've found significant improvements in our workflow. The software is easy to use and most importantly, extremely effective for getting our estimates out in a timely manner. The customer support I've experienced with Beam and Attentive has been top notch.

Cons:

I can honestly say I don't have any issues with Beam AI. I haven't encountered any serious bugs, and the very minor ones I have get fixed very quickly by the customer support team. I initially expected the cost to be one of the downsides, but in reality, its actually lowered our estimate creation costs.
