About Cert-In

Cert-In Software Systems, Inc. has been developing Estimating, Time & Material Billing, Bid Management, Contract Billing, and Purchase Order Manager systems for over 25 years. Our customers include small to large electrical contractors.

The Estimating Systems use customizable template takeoff worksheets and a menu-driven standard takeoff system for detailed estimates.

The Bid Manager is a comprehensive tool that allows you to analyze your estimate thoroughly. Project Managers and Bid Checkers are provided with tools to analyze labor, supervision, quotes, and phases of work.

The T&M Billing system is work order-based and allows users to create different markup profiles by customer, job, or invoice and prepare invoices using standard or custom-created invoice forms.

The Contract Billing System provides the user with the tools to properly prepare and submit industry-standard contract progress payment requests.

The Purchase Order Manager allows contractors to use the Electronic Catalogs to Create Purchase Orders, Requests for Quotations, and other reports easily and quickly thru printing or email.

The systems include interfaces to digital takeoff, Spreadsheet, Document Manage...

ment, Digitizer, Scalex, NetPricer, and Supplier Xchange integration. Software support is available thru phone, email, and remote connection.

    Ease of use and the speed of the take-off. Thousands of ready built assemblies all ready to go. The integration between you eTakeoff is the really neat part of this system. The special assemblies are so fast and easy to build, you can customize any estimate easily and fast. The ability to break out portions of the bid is very flexible and almost unlimited in how you want the breakout done. Also very fast in making the breakouts. There are very good videos of how to do different things and are easy to follow.
    Cons:
    The ease of building permanent assemblies is slow and cumbersome. This is the least liked portion of the system that could use some re-work. You do have the ability to import from one job to another the special assemblies, which are easy & fast to build, projects of similar type can reuse the same assembly.

    I liked the assembly method of take-off that Cert-In uses because of the speed.

    I purchased my first system back in March of 1995 a SD150 estimating system, I now have The Estimating System V10.6, T & M Billing V9.1 and Invoice Manager V.10. There was never an issue which they could not resolve for me. They always take care of the problem when I call or get back to me the same day. Back when Windows Vista came out many business were having problems running their software on the Vista Platform and return to their previous Windows Program. I couldn't get the estmating program working correctly after buying a new computer with Vista. Cert-In had me send the computer to them (proir to on screen help) and within a week I had the computer back working 100% correctly.

    This system is extremely easy to learn. You can use Specific menues to find parts or assemblies or Templates menues which are or you can designed for specific type of work for rapid input.
    Cons:
    Additional Features: 1. Menues Identfication allowed to be two letters or two letters than a number. This way you could have related menues grouped together. 2. On the Bid Takeoff Detail pages the items which does not have a value are highlighted.

    Its good for getting estimates out quickly and easy to keep prices updated. Also easy to install.
    Cons:
    It has some glitches. Sometimes the price doesnt match the screen. Printing will sometimes take a while.

    Assemblies enabled estimators to be more efficient. The different ways to print takeoffs helps the ever demand GC bid forms.
    Cons:
    Wish software was true Windows based for editing estimates. While there is a work around, if product was licensed with Microsoft the ease of use would be tremendous.
