Pros:

Some of the merits I derived from SelfStir are increased feedback, no worker resentment. The fact that the feedback was anonymous ensured that it received brutally frank feedback and the response was more in our leadership development programs.

Cons:

There are no topics assigned to the domain and there is no advanced searching where one can type in certain keywords. It even cost time when I wanted to suggest some articles concerning the specific development technique to a team member.

It's free for individuals; user-friendly interface (layout, white space, etc.)

Cons:

* Will raters receive marketing emails from SelfStir? - No information provided about this important question. * Online customer forum has only 26 posts since 2016. * You cannot preview the emails that will be sent to your raters. * If you send one survey to your boss ("management"), their completed survey is marked as a "manager" response. Consequently you know who completed that survey.

Hello Mark, we understand your concerns. We do specify in our Terms of Service that rater information will NEVER be used for any purposes other than sending out the survey invitation and possibly a reminder, if you wish, which can be used only once a week. Of course, if you personally wish to receive any updates from us there is a place in your profile area where you can opt-in, but this is not pre-selected and as long as you don't select it, you will never hear from us. We are a company driven by a mission, and we work and live by extremely high values. In fact, the platform that you used is not a free trial, it is an absolutely free service that we provide because we believe in Leadership. Our business platform is a paid service used by some of the leading organizations and universities, which helps offset the costs of providing the free service for individuals. Lastly, you are right, by design, the manager review is never anonymous.

SelfStir helped me organize my work as a coach by providing a system that is based on actual behavior patterns to follow in the sessions. The feedback got from different roles in a team allowed me identify patterns that relate to leadership competencies that I emphasized on.

Cons:

I had one issue with exporting survey reports. It was not easy to come up with bullet-point summaries of the key development points to use in presentations and there was no in-built way to format it for outside use.

Pros:

For me the most interesting solution was how SelfStir linked personal and team improvement together. The peer and manager feedback modules helped to create leadership standards, and the journal feature provided an effective means of reviewing performance recommendations.

Cons:

One of the issues I observed was that the action plan tracking was not very informative on the progress with the goals. Sometimes I had to chase team members to ensure compliance with regards to the action steps which in turn held back some development goals.

360 Degree Leadership Assessment

Since 2015, we are using SelfStir to run our yearly 360 degree Leadership assessment for our executives and managers. Rather than using an external company to do it from A to Z for us, through SelfStir we have been able, in a much easier and cheaper way, to customize the platform with our own Competence Model, to upload a custom survey and to generate the related assessment reports by ourselves.

Cons:

Sometimes the screen scroll up after a selection is made in a menu or a data is inserted. This obliges to scroll down before going ahead.

I like that the product is flexible so my clients can add things that are important to them and their company in order to yield relevant results.

Cons:

The aspect of this product that I feel could be improved is the ready access to know if an email address bounces back.

Self-Stir is a great paltform

The platform is really advanced with it's inbuilt competencies. If we could allow more customization it will be really a great platform for talent management.
