The best LMS for pre-licensing, exam prep and continuing education

Overall, Acadio has been a key strategic partner and ally for our business. They pair superb customer service with an excellent product. In my career as an IT professional, this is one of the best software implementations I have had the privilege to be part of.

Pros:

The Acadio LMS is very intuitive to use for learners, LMS administrators and course designers. It has innovative study features baked in, that allows learners to see where they need to focus more time as well as handy tools to make studying easier. From the course authoring side of things, Acadio is structured in such a way that a small team can manage a large catalog of courses and content. Acadio as a company is highly responsive and relatable. Issues are infrequent, but when they occur, are promptly addressed. Implementation was considerably easier than we expected with Acadio assisting with the import of our course content. We were able to rapidly provision courses and link them to our e-commerce platform.

Cons:

When we started with Acadio, documentation was lacking for few areas. Acadio's responsiveness more than made up for this, however. In the year+ since we've launched, Acadio has continued to make strides to improve their documentation.

Reasons for choosing Acadio LMS

OpenEdX was designed for a much different use-case than what we needed. To adapt it to suit our purposes was going to require a huge investment in time and resources. Acadio fit the bill for what we needed for much less time and cost. It made for a simple decision.

Acadio has superior customer service; they're quick, responsive, and demonstrate genuine care for their customers. Their centralized asset management and thoughtful tools make building courses quick and easy. And, the ability to create nested course outlines helps clarify the topic structure for students and admins alike. Content version history makes it easy to see who made changes, what they changed, and when. It even lets you roll back changes, if needed. The internal notes feature on activities and user accounts facilitates admin collaboration. The platform has a slick, modern design. Highly customizable user permissions allow for better internal control. The question study bank and topic-specific performance reporting help students narrow their focus to the topics they need to study more. The integrated flash card feature is mapped to course content, which makes it easy for students to customize and streamline their study experience. The platform can handle our complex reporting needs while providing a simple reporting process for students.

Cons:

No complaints here. They are always happy to help whenever we need it.

Impeccable Platform, Exceptional People

From day one, Acadio impressed us. Switching platforms is never easy - especially when you're three years into building a company with thousands of active students and all the systems, connections, and processes that come with that. The idea of making a major LMS change felt overwhelming and, honestly, a little risky. But from the very first conversation with the Acadio team, we felt heard, supported, and understood. Had we started with Acadio from day one, I can only imagine how much farther we'd be. The platform is everything we needed - and so many things we didn’t even know we needed until we started exploring it. It’s powerful, flexible, and designed in a way that genuinely supports course creators, educators, and most importantly - the users. The platform is impeccable! The process of switching over was not chaotic or overwhelming by any means! We were fully supported at every stage. They didn’t just hear us - they listened. They didn’t just meet our needs - they made us feel like those needs mattered. It was a beautiful and collaborative transition. Their team was consistently responsive, unbelievably patient, and always generous with their time - whether we needed a walkthrough, a custom solution, or a second opinion. Cons:

Honestly, nothing so far. We haven’t experienced any issues or limitations, and every need we’ve had has been met with fast, thoughtful support. If anything comes up, I trust their team will handle it with the same excellence they’ve shown throughout.

Great LMS and Customer Support

My overall experience with Acadio LMS has been great. Acadio is a great company to work with and has a great LMS product. Customer service is amazing, any issues that may arise are solved quickly. Acadio also cares about its customers, they listen to their customers' suggestions for improvements/new features.

Pros:

Where to begin, there are so many pros to the Acadio LMS. This is a great product! The product is easy to use and customer service is great. Acadio allows content to be customized to your content style; our content uses different title styles and different shading for important topics and for examples, and this LMS allows for that. As a content reviewer, the ability to see exactly what was changed (highlighted in red for removals, green for additions) with the compare feature is very helpful and makes reviewing content changes easy and efficient. It is also helpful to see what activities/questions have changed or are a draft as those are indicated with a "Draft" icon. Also being able to see older versions of the content is useful as well. The flexibility to publish changes/updates live immediately or at a later date is critical in our industry; as corrections might need to go live immediately but updates for the next testing window don't need to go live until a later date. Love the note feature! Being able to leave notes on a question or content activity is very useful, we leave notes for other team members (editors/reviewers) specific to that question/content, for future suggestions/edits needed, etc. The tag feature is useful for organizing and filtering questions by tag (and you create your tags based on your needs). The topics tree is helpful to make sure you have questions for every content activity and to see the number of questions for each activity in a quick view.

Cons:

Compared to our previous LMS, there really are no cons to the Acadio LMS. A con would be having to learn a new LMS, but the Acadio LMS is easy to learn and easy to use, and customer support is awesome. Another con might be having to learn all the great new features that Acadio LMS offers.

Pros:

The CE reporting process and integrated community feature are the best features of Acadio. Reporting the CE couldn't be easier as it only requires a few clicks from your mouse. The process is intuitive and easy to use. If a regulator allows an API connection CE reporting is automatic, but there is a streamlined workflow that is very helpful when using an API is not possible. I was able to train someone on how to report the CE in less than a few minutes. The integrated community is perhaps the biggest game changer for our company since it allows students to ask questions from anywhere within the course and directly links to where they were in the course. This helped us understand what areas our course needed to improve and gave our students an extra level of service that made us stand out.

Cons:

There aren't any negatives that come to mind.

Editing without extra steps!

Pros:

Acadio is very easy to use and has some great features likes Notes so we can track our thought process and highlight topics for discussion with colleagues. Acadio also allows us to offer a wide range of learning activities from books to videos to assessments.

Cons:

I've been working in Acadio for a while now and I don't have any complaints.
