About MyLab

MyLab is an eLearning solution that allows higher education institutions to handle courses, assessments and online learning programs on a unified platform. Educators can create assignments, evaluate tests and track the performance of students in real-time.

With MyLab’s gradebook module, teachers can automatically give grades to learners and analyze improvement areas across their learning journey. It offers a variety of features including blended learning, content management, single sign-on, data import/export, feedback management, analytics, and more. Additionally, it provides a reporting module, which lets supervisors gain insights into course progress and learner’s activities through visual reports, key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.

MyLab comes with an application programming interface (API), which facilitates integration with several third-party platforms such as Blackboard Learn, Brightspace, Canvas and Moodle. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via documentation, FAQs and videos.

Next generation learning management and course content creation

Pros:

This is a pwerhouse of learning management platform. Personalised learning. Interactive learning. 24 hour access. Personalised plans. Feedback against wrong answers. Perfect for learners and educators. Available for all device types.

Cons:

I feel Google classroom sync in missing out. Limited to mutiple choice answers. Free trial should be given. Chat support is missing.

Great products! E-texts are good!

I’ve used MyLab for many of my online courses. I love the online grade book that keeps up with your grades and retakes. I love the course options that are available and that is it sometimes a one stop shop for all of your course needs.

Very easy to use for e-text access. Really good supporting materials and guides that help you utilize the software.

Great addon to Textbook!

My overall experience with Mylab has been positive. When I first started using it, it was overwhelming. The UI isn't very user-friendly. It takes a while to understand how to navigate the program. But once you get used to it, it's a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom. Students enjoy working online and gives them another method of learning the material we cover each day.

Pros:

I have been using this software for the past couple of years for my Senior Transition and Trig class. Students enjoy it when I assign work using Mylab. The one thing I like the most about Mylab is it aligns with the textbook perfectly. It makes my job much easier when I can go in and assign problems from the section we covered that day. Mylab also gives students different problems that focus on what that specific student needs practice on. It's not repetitive and focuses on the individual student instead of a standard set of problems. It tailors the assignment to each student's needs.

Cons:

The one thing I like least about Mylab is the grade book. My school uses a program called Schoology for keeping students' grades. Many other programs we use will submit students' grades automatically. Mylab does not do this. I have to record students' grades manually. It's difficult when you have to check multiple times a day to see if a student submitted an assignment so you can update the grade book. With other software, it will do this on its own.

Pros:

Using asynchronous learning in this software so one can use various forms of learning mediums.

Cons:

Pricing for the different courses is very random. This is one of the thing I do not like about MyLab.

Pros:

The absolute best part of this software is the 'Help Me Solve' and 'Show Me An Example' selection for every problem! This is a personal tutor for each tutor on demand.

Cons:

I would like the media to be updated. They are 'vhs' tutorial simply coped into a digital format. They really really need to be updated.

Worst platform I have ever used in all my degrees as a student. Made statistics a living hell. Someone needs to do something about your customer support and general web design as well as function- It is beyond horrible. If I could give this a review I would give it a -1000000.

It does have a study plan feature and many options to master the material you are trying to learn.

Cons:

I am an accounting major and for every problem if you are even a decimal off it counts the entire problem wrong. This can be misleading to many people, including me, because it leads me to believe I’m doing something wrong when it is a matter of one number. Also, a lot of technical problems.

Pros:

It is easy to duplicate courses from your previous semesters or from other colleagues. The software is okay for the students and for professors.

Cons:

They could improve their customer service for the students, make the grading sheets more intuitive, or they can decrease the cost of the product for the students.
