Does what we need

Overall it has everything we need to make NFTs for our packaging that follow Canadian laws. There are a bunch of little things they could do to make the product a bit more user friendly but it does the job we need for a decent price.

Pros:

Overall the product is pretty easy to use. It can be time consuming if multiple recipes go into one final product. We only use it to get NFTs. I like that you can choose different shapes/sizes. The database is a good size and has a lot of the products we use but not all. I like that you can add custom ingredients though.

Cons:

My main gripe is how slow it can be to look at different recipes. I wish it would default to just showing you the whole list of your recipes, not just short little pages and then you have to search for it. Then you have to click on the name of it and then click edit. I'd much rather have it default to editing when you click the title. It's very slow when you're flipping back and forth between recipes. It would be nice if you could also toggle an "autosave" of the recipes or at the very least have it ask something like "are you sure you want to leave this page? You haven't saved your recipe" because it's very easy to forget to save it.

Stable software that is backed by incredible customer service

We love that the software is made by a Canadian company and is affordable. We use the software mostly to compile Nutrition Facts Tables for our customers. The software is easy to navigate and if we do have questions their support is responsive, knowledgeable and are happy to help.

Pros:

The personalized service is incredible. We needed a format that was not already available and they delivered within the week! We would never have had this type of response from another supplier. The owner even called to ensure they were on the right track with the formatting. We also appreciate the web based platform as we do not have to run virtual machines or be on a specific platform to be able to use the product.

Cons:

The only hiccup we had was taken care of by the MenuSano team! We needed a specific layout that was not already available, but is it now in the templates. Thanks team

Old references for Daily Values

I used this software according one of our customer's request. Not a good experience.

Easy to use- Customer service was always accessible but they gave me the wrong link of Health Canada for your references

Cons:

I figured out that the final values are strange and when followed it up with supporting team and references, I figured out that Menusano is using the old DV% tables of CFIA and FDA for calculating the data. The customer support gave me a wrong link of Health Canada which is not for the industry. Health Canada has made some changes in some regulations and numbers from 2016. The most updated references are for 2016 but Menusano is using the older references unfortunately. I can't trust anymore. Please update your references.

Pros:

We have been using MenuSano for over 2.5 years and it's been handy from the start. We sell pre-made salads to grocery store so we had to find a good and easy program to have our nutritional values on our labels. We are always creating new salads so our old and new recipes are always at the same place. We recommended to any new or older business!

Cons:

At first, it was a little bit overwhelming but you get the hang of it quickly. The only part at the moment that confuse me a bit is when I manually enter a new product.

Ease of use compared to others on the market. The database is very helpful.

Cons:

Not always up to date on nutrition panel requirements (ie,. I don’t see a feature allowing the grouping of sugars in the ingredients list). The price is high compared to other programs. Database could be more comprehensive.

Easy to use

It's helped me analyze the nutrient content of my meal plans.

Pros:

MenuSano is easy and intuitive to use. You don't need to watch videos or waste time learning a complex software

Cons:

I would prefer the nutrition content could be provided for each ingredient in a recipe, rather than just showing the recipes nutrition. For example, if a recipe I have is too high in calories, it would be helpful to see at a glance which ingredients are the greatest contributor of calories in order to modify it.
