About Evidence

Evidence is a notification tool that helps businesses convert site visitors into customers by displaying notifications for recent purchases, reviews, important updates and targeted promotions on the website.

Key features of Evidence include notification editor, customizable branding, animation and rules engine. Businesses can use the solution to modify notifications with custom images, shapes, shadows, or backgrounds, view changes in real-time. Users can add merge fields such as name, product information, website, promotion and more. Additionally, the tool captures lead information submitted through web forms and displays conversions on the website.

Evidence facilitates integration with several third-party applications including AidaForm, Airtable, Amelia, bucket.io, Calendly, Eventbrite, FastSpring and other platforms using webhooks, webforms and Zapier. A free trial is available. Pricing is available on monthly subscriptions.

A must-have and excellent tool for social proof!

This tool can really help me to engage my sites visitors in a proper and effective way, I use it to display announcements, coupons, online visitors but I know I will be extending my use cases once I start with my e-commerce site to provide honest social proof. This is a great alternative to any other social proof widget plugin you could find out there, I have researched about some in the past and I honestly preferred Evidence above all those, I love the look & feel this widget can provide and the platform user interface, although I think they can still improve it even more in future, so far it has everything you can expect from any professional social proof plugin and has a lot of integrations, just take in mind that it seems (at least to me) that lastly they're pushing updates slowly as I would prefer, however they still working in some improvements and pushing some new features time to time.

Pros:

I love the user interface, I like the ability they give to their customers to customize almost everything about the look and feel of the popups and alerts, the widgets looks gorgeous! And it is pretty easy, simple and fast to implement in any site :)

Cons:

I just wish the Evidence team could be even more active on the product updates, I mean they still continue rolling new updates to the platform however I don't feel like they're too much involved into this or at least not as quickly as I would personally prefer.

Easy to use social proof with deep features

Evidence is the social proof tool that I settled on after trying many others. It just has the best combination of being easy to use while also having virtually every feature the others have. The ability to use their tracking script to track website users and report on them in FOMO popups is very cool, and the interface is just super slick.

I was really wanting a social proof option that would allow me to display the number of people who have visited the current page over the last 7 days, or whatever period of time. I was surprised how many social proof apps did NOT offer this. But Evidence does! Not only that, but out of the 7 or so social proof apps I've used, none have been easier to use than Evidence. The interface is simple and reactive, and it takes no time to put a campaign together.

Cons:

I wish there were more direct integrations with third party tools. Honestly, this isn't something that is terrible, but it's the one thing I wish there was more of. Most integrations seem to be based on webhooks or through Zapier, which is fine, but takes a little more setting up. And Zapier can get expensive very quickly. So I do hope they put more effort into direct integrations in the future, or offer Integromat or other options.

Evidence makes FOMO easy

This software is amazing for webinar signups. This drives more people to signup based on the total number of people engaging with the site.

Pros:

I love the simple features that Evidence provides to generate interest based on the real visitors that come to your website. Even better, you can whitelabel this service for your clients and you can control all aspects of the popup, from color scheme to who it is powered by (YOU!).

Cons:

The existing templates are well thought out but are limited when it comes to modifying it to your exact specs (name/location only). You can only pull certain types of data. Hopefully there are more options in the pipeline. This is a JS code you insert into your site. If you minify your site to speed it up, you'll run into issues. If you're a developer, this is a easy bypass but it's a headache for newbies who aren't hardcore coders. Though this is a issue, you can bypass this on landing page builders since they're optimized for speed to begin with. IF you're on WordPress, that is where you may run into issues.

The integration with WooCommerce was easy to set up and the creation of notifications is about as easy as it gets. Great options that aren't only for ecommerce, like announcements of new articles or "visit this page." The ability to limit which pages the notifications went to is great as well.

Cons:

Editting existing campaigns can be cumbersome.

My Future Business Uses Evidence

I am using Evidence to help provide social proof on The My Future Business website. I found that the initial set up was easy, and I was over the moon with the fact that I could trigger Evidence using Google Tag Manager.

Evidence was easy to set up. I can use it without adding more plugins to my website i.e. I run it through Google Tag Manager. It works.

Cons:

I think more design choices would be good to help me completely match the design of my business website. This is not a criticism, it's just that I'm all about completely tailoring software to suit my business needs.

I made the switch because it was an affordable option that did not rely on a dedicated plugin to use it.

What a great tool and what a team !

Great little add-on for WP testimonials

Disappointed at first because of the lack of design controls (the other tech controls are excellent). However, with updated release, its been great.

Easy to configure and install; good support materials for newbie users.

Cons:

Some design features were lacking that meant a color clash with our branding was unable to be resolved. We took this off our site until the developers released a later version - new version works fine and we're back to loving it.

Evidence was easier to use and gave us more design control (after initial constraints were resolved in subsequent update)
