About Beacon

Beacon’s supply chain visibility platform equips supply chain and logistics teams with real-time transportation tracking, reporting, planning and collaboration tools that help them take control of their supply chains, manage risk and reduce costs.

By connecting the systems with a global network of ocean carriers, airlines and ports businesses have access to real-time tracking updates for all the goods in a single place — all without having to log in to a carrier portal or update manual tracking spreadsheets. Users can easily configure notifications to be alerted when shipments are at risk.

Beacon is designed to enable seamless collaboration between supply chain partners. The platform's team-focused features mean users can share real-time data with the hauliers, warehouses and other partners and collaborate to address disruptions all without having to send a single email.

A suite of reports provides data-backed insights into everything from carbon emissions to route planning, risk concentration and carrier performance.

Beacon - Information Accessible Instantly

Ease of Use: Seamless onboarding and implementation are huge wins for any company. Support Quality: Friendly, approachable, and timely responses make a big difference in user satisfaction. Pros:

Beacon is very easy to use. I only have one portal to open as all the information is in one place and instantly available. I can find a shipment and find the information I am looking for allowing, instant answers.

Cons:

You select and apply filters to run a report but you can't save it. If you could save a report it would save a little time.

Excellent overall

My overall experience with Beacon has been very positive. The service has been dependable, communication has been proactive, and the regular catch-up calls have helped ensure that any issues or questions were addressed promptly and professionally.

Pros:

I really appreciated how consistently accurate the ETA forecasts were for all our container movements. The platform’s reporting tools were also very clear, reliable, and easy to work with, which made it much simpler to track performance and share updates with the wider team.

Cons:

When monitoring several shipments at once, I found the shipment cards a little difficult to read and compare. The layout felt slightly cluttered, which meant it sometimes took longer than expected to locate the specific information I needed quickly.

Reasons for choosing Beacon

Beacon was easier to navigate and far more user friendly compared to the alternative system.

Pros:

quick and easy to get shipment updates and correct ETA I like that new elements are being continually added, amended ect to system so that Beacon are clearly changing with the industry Customer service support is fantastic, when do have issues get quick response to answer/fix.

Cons:

It is built around containers, for shipments of more then 1 container per BOL which we as a company mainly have (shipments of 10-20 containers per BOL) we cannot use the system to it's full potential I would also like to have more control over customization of how the system displays data.

Visualize your global Supply Chain

Friendly team, superb customer service, keen to learn about our business needs and adjust the system to it. Very smooth relationship so far.

Pros:

Transparent overview of your Supply Chain and brilliant visualization. Scroll over the ships and you know what products are close to arrive. Easy search function to keep an eye on critical products (you can also flag them to see those on the landing page). Creation of boards to share with your team or other stakeholders. Carbon emissions reporting included, which will become more important for Scope 3 reporting. An overall great tool to keep an eye on your Supply Chain.

Cons:

There is not a lot to add here. The team is going the extra mile for you to come up with new software tools or workarounds where needed. But there are two areas for improvement: 1. Development of an App 2. Using of the BOL instead of just the container number

Consolidation of data

Good overall experience, easy to navigate and interrogate with many benefits to be had currently and even more so as we work to enhance further.

Pros:

Real live data on status of our containers all in one place instead of having to interrogate all of the individual shipping websites. Also numerous filters to interrogate your data and usefull live board to share specific information privately to other parties. Accurate information on dwell times and pinch points on the journey of your container to understand your lead times.

Cons:

Once we have all API connectivity and we can see our ref data connected to our containers i cannot think of any particular cons to this product
