Game-Changer for SaaS Accounting Integrations

Apideck has been instrumental in scaling our accounting integrations efficiently. The platform dramatically reduced our development overhead - maintaining one integration instead of dozens. Their support for conditional syncing, custom field mapping, and granular error handling aligned perfectly with our complex requirements. While we encountered some limitations and had to build workarounds, the benefits far outweighed any challenges. It's become a critical piece of our infrastructure that enables us to serve customers using virtually any accounting platform.

Pros:

The unified API approach is game-changing - we integrated once and gained access to 22+ accounting platforms. Their normalized data models saved us countless hours of platform-specific development. The comprehensive webhook support provides reliable real-time updates, and their security certifications gave us confidence in handling sensitive financial data. The SDKs are well-maintained and the documentation is thorough. Most importantly, what would have taken months per platform now takes days to implement.

Cons:

While Apideck covers most use cases excellently, some advanced features from native APIs aren't available yet - though they're actively adding new capabilities. The real-time API approach, while ensuring data freshness, can introduce some latency when syncing complex objects with multiple dependencies. We'd love to see more detailed error responses for edge cases to speed up troubleshooting. Additionally, having a caching option for relatively static data like account lists could improve performance for certain workflows.

Reasons for choosing Apideck

We chose Apideck over Merge, Codat, and Paragon for several critical reasons. First, Apideck offers real-time data synchronization compared to Merge's 6-hour delay, which is essential for our accounting workflows where timely financial data is crucial. While Codat specializes in accounting, they only support 33 connectors versus Apideck's 162, limiting our ability to scale to different accounting platforms our customers use. Paragon's embedded iPaaS approach would have required significant architectural changes to our application, whereas Apideck's unified API model aligned perfectly with our existing infrastructure. Additionally, Apideck provides comprehensive CRUD operations, native webhook support, and a proxy API for advanced use cases - features that were either limited or missing in the alternatives. The combination of broader accounting platform coverage, real-time sync, and developer-friendly implementation made Apideck the clear choice for our needs.RetryClaude can make mistakes. A good partner to integrate Cloud Storage Services

The experience is good. It no longer requires any work on our side. When it happens, tickets are solved within a few hours, which is very appreciable.

Apideck helps us save time to integrate our solution, Collect, with multiple cloud storage services at the same time. It saved us lots of time during the integration process. It also saves us a lot of time in the operations since all requests are observable on their platform.

Cons:

We sometimes reached the limits of the integration during the integration phase. But the team was really responsive and found solutions with us.

The best bang for your buck for a Unified API Solution

Overall, it has been smooth from the customer discovery call until right now where we are trying to reach continous usage with our products that use API deck behind the scenes. We are confident that we are working with a provider that can reasonably work with us for our evolving needs in the future.

Smooth developer experience as relayed to me by our development team. Their catalog of connectors are good enough for us and GJ (API Deck's CEO) has been very helpful in terms of catering to our needs. If your architecture would benefit from a Unified API approach, API Deck is probably the best bang for your buck. Merge is extremely expensive, others provided little coverage (eg. accounting only)

Cons:

Nothing too drastic. As they are not the biggest Unified API provider, of course they don't have as big of a coverage in terms of API endpoints and connectors. But the team at API deck is more than happy to work with you for a development schedule to deliver on what you need.

Reasons for switching to Apideck

Value for money. Codat does not support HRIS connectors and does not accomodate feature requests as fast as API deck

Working with their team to integrate with our systems was easy. Their logging tools are also great and easy to use.

Cons:

They do not offer integrations with all partners our customers work with, and support for some offered integrations was not sufficient to get the integration working as the customer desired.
