About Lavu

Lavu POS is an iPad-based point-of-sale system designed for food and beverage businesses. It supports various establishments such as full-service restaurants, quick-service restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, bakeries, cafeterias, ice cream shops, pizza restaurants, and food trucks. The system is used by restaurants in many countries.

The platform includes features tailored to the restaurant industry. It offers a customizable iPad interface, dual pricing options for cash and card transactions, and a kitchen display system for order processing. Pros:

A lot of features are offered for a decent price point. I enjoyed the loyalty program and the options for setting up.

Cons:

Hard to reach customer service sometimes. I’ve had a few issues with printers and tablets disconnecting.

Pros:

The entire onboarding team was phenomenal and attentive to my needs for the POS. Very engaging.

Cons:

The main terminal does not rotate. Terminal was shipped in dark mode which did not allow me to view the setup screen.

It is quite easy to use, updating is a breeze, and the ability to use it in different locations at once is great.

Cons:

Data Base host goes offline too often especially when we are most busy.

Hidden Gem

Bumpy. But they hit a home run by the time we were all set to go. Went live a week later than they planned but a week before we planned. The entire team was super helpful in the process and delt with a really picky customer with a really large menu with patience.

Pros:

Sky is the limit on what you can do with the point of sale with the proper knowledge. ASK QUESTIONS. They will teach you anything you would like to know or do it for you in just a phone call.

Cons:

There were a few bumps in the set up that made me nervous. Almost bailed out on it before even starting. They were able to fix the issues, get the account set up correctly and get the process moving back on track.

The equipment and the cash discount program. The price of set up was free and that was like a dream come try.

That you have to do all the changes on the computer and not on the actual ipad

Cons:

There are several functions that are not yet available or not best suited for our needs and for our business style and key protection for our industry with user levels are lacking. The functionality for our complex needs needs to be improved.

Nice hardware and free trial. Knowledgable support team.

Cons:

Not transparent with the charges. I was not told about the card point charges. Also no warning of Lavu being cancelled. So I cannot access the reports.

The support team is highly efficient. Thanks for that.

Cons:

It is not an ERP system, it's just a POS system. We have to switch to an ERP that also has POS.

Love it love it love it

I had switched from Touch Bistro to Lavu. Lavu is 100 times less stressful to learn and use.

Very simple to use and learn. 24 hour Customer support is very understandable and makes troubleshooting very easy.

Cons:

So far there is nothing I like least about Lavu
