Locance operates an enterprise-grade Location-as-a-Service platform offering a multi-source geolocation API. Customers use Locance for gaming geolocation compliance, content localization, asset management, and more. The web services APIs deliver real-time location services for connected devices.

Customer use cases include securing online transactions, complying with geographic regulations for gaming, and managing remote assets. Serving innovative customers from the Fortune 500 to start-ups, Locance's cloud-based web services offer easy integration and secure, global reach.

Enterprise application developers are able to optimize customer experience and secure critical online activities with access to global location and device profiling services through Locance’s comprehensive web services APIs. Using technologies such as global cell site ID (Cell ID), Wi-Fi Access Point ID, IP Address Data Insights and browser-based location methods, any connected device type, even those without access to GPS, may be located.

Easy to Integrate, Customer Service Second to None

We use LocationSmart for our 3rd party Location Based Services and cell tower triangulaation lookups. These are automatically done and the system is proactively monitored by LocationSmart. Any tendencies or trends that appear to be sharply off or steadily changed over time are noted and discussed with LocationSmart in the event anything might be ging wrong.

Pros:

They service is easy to integrate into our backend system for automated location calls to our servers. Any questions or issues that arise are easily or quickly answered and handled by any and all staff.

Cons:

Nothing at the moment. Maybe that I had more time to dig and gain insights from our use over time.

Previous contracts expired and the pricing was more competitive with LocationSmart.

Integrating our messaging platform with Locationsmart services is a great value add for our clients!

We give our clients the ability to more effectively message their end users based on where they are. It's very important to be able to send the right message to the right audience at the right time; knowing your audiences' location is paramount to for this!

Pros:

The ability to locate handsets using lat/long, zip code or street address either inside or outside a geofence. Multiple fences can be set up. The lookups are relatively quick and the API integration we use is straight-forward.

Pros:

Ease of integration and use without question and the quality of the data that is returned. I have been a businessman since 1972 and have dealt with many business entities over the years and the products and services they have provided, but I must say that LocationSmart has exceeded my expectations by providing a quality product and support staff that is second to none. Their desire to be the best at what they do is quite refreshing considering the market climate we are all now experiencing.

Cons:

There is no down side to LocationSmart and its many products and services. You will not find a better cost effective location based service entity anywhere.

Pros:

The zone check API is easy to use and requires minimal configuration on the client side. The V4 API makes things even easier and allows combining different types of requests. Their customer support is excellent and provides detailed answers and helpful suggestions. The API sandbox tool is useful to generate real responses to different inputs.

Cons:

If the API sandbox tool could provide access to more edge cases, ideally every possible response code, it would take some of the guesswork out of implementing the client side.

The location query is very accurate and thus meets our requirements. The additional device profile check also helps a lot to get accurate data.

Cons:

We adjusted the thresholds to our requirements but with the help of LocationSmart this was done quickly!
