About qashqade

qashqade is an enterprise software suite for fund managers (GPs), fund administrators, and investors (LPs) in private markets. It is designed to handle key processes for calculation, allocation, tracking, and reporting. qashqade provides several key tools to increase transparency and accuracy while helping users reduce the need for manual, error-prone spreadsheets.

qashqade's Waterfall Calculation Engine can automatically calculate values for management and performance fees, LP's share in return of capital, hurdle & gain, and more. The LPA Validation tool allows users to model, track, and report on Limited Partnership (LP) Agreements and terms. The tool can be used to reallocate, forfeit, split, or reschedule performance fees based on set rules. The GP Incentives Allocation tool can be used for carried interest distributions or to validate third-party calculations. The Cap Table provides a centralized record of ownership structures and investment values in a portfolio.

Additionally, users can generate fully branded and customized investor reports, helping improve the client experience. qashqade is available as an on-premise or full Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.

Does what it say it does. The user interface can appear clunky but it is solving a complex issue...

Pros:

No bugs in calculation. Can capture many different carry calcs by simply selecting the required user options - no coding required.

Cons:

Reporting output is difficult to use, easier to analyse data output in Excel.

We are able to at the click of a button calculate where a fund is in its waterfall calculation at the end of each quarter.

Pros:

The features of Qashquade we have found most impactful is its ability to calculate preferred return and carry within minutes for both at a fund level and at an individual LP level where side letters impact the calculation. It was easily integrated with our current software that we are using.

Cons:

Some aspects of the product require a bit more training or understanding, for example setting up steps in a waterfall calculation that require what if analysis this is not an easy feature to find within the step logic creator.
