Altium 365 and its great features

Overall I'm satisfied with with the features Altium 365 give and it really helped me in my projects and academic journey.

I like its feature of real time collaboration among team members in the project and supervisors and mentors could give a real time feedback.

Cons:

Its subscription pricing is somehow unaffordable, so beginner designers and academicians might not be able to use this incredible tool.

Altium Hates Engineers

I have 6 years experienc usign Altium, but now I NO LONGER have the skills to use it because of that STUPID Integrated Component Library that's too difficult to use. I HATE Altium!

That STUPID Integrated Component LIbrary has RUINED my experience. I'm going to QUIT my job to get AWAY from this LOUSY tool. I HATE it!

The standard for PCB CAD software

Overall phenomenal tool! As a small tech startup we don't have the resources and man power that a large company may have, yet Altium Designer has enabled us to move very quickly. We have designed a number of boards with great success.

Pros:

Altium Designer has set the standard for schematic capture, PCB layout and documentation generation. Coming from Mentor PADS has been such an eye opening experience. I would say the one thing I love about Altium Designer is the integrated component selection. It truly allows for a small team to move at a very rapid pace.

Cons:

I wish it had Power and Signal integrity simulation that Mentor HyperLynx offers. It would be wonderful to get feedback on power plane design and decoupling in one tool.

Additionally, the subscription price might be viewed as relatively expensive compared to other PCB design software.

Pros:

From the features of Altium 365 what I liked the most is that, it helps designers to collaborate in real time with other designers and mentors during the project phase. It also allows supervisors to give real time feedbacks for the designs being done. This makes a design process quite easy and efficient.

Cons:

What I liked the least about Altium 365 is that it takes time to fully understand the incredible features that Altium 365 provides. This is because there aren't many online and free resources to learn the tool.

I made a switch from KiCad EDA to Altium 365 because of great professional features like cloud based real time collaboration that Altium 365 provides.

A great tool for your projects, Altium 365

As an electronics engineering student Altium 365 is a great tool for me. I could do projects in collaboration with my colleagues and then my professor could provide me feedbacks. And that makes my learning easy and effective.

What I like the most about Altium 365 is the way it allows users to collaborate in a given project and give real time feedback.

Cons:

Some of its features may not be beginner friendly and I found it a little complex to learn at first. So what I liked the least about Altium 365 is that its complexity to learn the tool.

Design with intelligence

Altium Designer is an intelligent and user-friendly PCB design platform that has enhanced my company's design capabilities tremendously. It was somewhat daunting to adopt it as a replacement for our outdated design software, but the payoff is ultimately worth the effort!

Schematic driven routing and seamless switching between wire routing and via placement using rules-based design.

Cons:

The material library's inability to be customized to work with metals that fall outside of the standard library options.
