About GFI FaxMaker

GFI FaxMaker is a fax server software designed to help businesses in banking, finance, healthcare, insurance, legal, travel, manufacturing, government and other sectors send, receive and manage faxes. Administrators can include attachments, content and subject line to send documents via email applications using the fax number.

The platform offers an OCR module, allowing managers to search for specific content across various faxes and identify people’s names. GFI FaxMaker enables teams to archive faxes, set-up routing rules for incoming or outgoing faxes and ensure compliance in accordance with regulatory protocols. Additionally, operators can utilize pre-built cover sheets and spell checkers to create content.

GFI FaxMaker offers an application programming interface (API), which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications including GFI Archiver. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via forum, knowledge base, video tutorials and email.

Cheaper Than Alternatives

It's reliable in that we've never run into it malfunctioning. It doesn't require frequent updates or constant money-grubbing.

Pros:

GFI Faxmaker has been reliable and is able to be customized by Group Policy. Its cost is definitely appealing. It allows for custom cover sheet messages on a per-user basis.

Cons:

Faxmaker is quite rudimentary. Its Tab function can often fail which means you have to click into the To: field. This sounds minor, but when sending many faxes a day (as a referral clerk, medical records clerk, etc.), this can be cumbersome. Changing the cover image is an absolute pain as there is no real administrative interface. It's simply XML code that must be manually updated.

it OK if its working and when its working

Cons:

We have Allscripts EHR and therefore we are forced to use GFI. Customer service is non existing. Emails that I am receiving from them are always for some reason deleted (blank). We can never log into the account without the problem; our account seems to be always frozen. It takes days to get in touch with somebody. I can't wait to try something different

because I use Allscripts EHR ; we did not have a choice.

Pros:

It's supposed to be acceptable (according to my IT people) but my experience with it has been unfavorable.

Cons:

Their admin area is not intuitive. Getting a real human to address any kind of support question is virtually impossible. They prompt you to re-up your prepaid fax account really early.
