om basic shift management to advanced time tracking and reporting capabilities. __Free plan__ Sling's Free plan is a suitable entry point for small businesses or organizations with straightforward scheduling needs. This plan is available at no cost for up to 30 users and includes fundamental scheduling and employee communication tools to streamline your processes. __Pros:__ - __User limit suitable for SMBs:__ Supports up to 30 users at no cost, making it accessible for small to midsize teams. - __Core scheduling features:__ Includes essential tools such as shift scheduling, time-off requests, and shift availability management. - __Team communication:__ Offers news sharing and private messaging capabilities to keep your team connected and informed. __Cons:__ - __User cap limited for certain types of businesses:__ The 30-user limit may be insufficient for the needs of multilocation businesses and larger teams. - __No time tracking:__ Doesn’t include mobile time tracking, timesheets, auto clock-out, or any other time-tracking features. - __Limited reporting:__ Lacks advanced reporting capabilities for analyzing labor costs and productivity. __Premium plan__ The Premium plan builds on the foundation of the Free plan by adding essential time tracking and workforce management features. Priced at $2 per user per month (billed monthly) or $1.70 per user per month (billed annually), this plan is designed for businesses that need more robust capabilities. __Pros:__ - __Mobile time tracking:__ Enables employees to clock in and out directly from their mobile devices, enhancing flexibility and accuracy. - __Labor cost management:__ Provides tools to monitor and control labor expenses, helping businesses stay within budget. - __Overtime tracking:__ Automatically identifies and flags overtime hours, reducing compliance risks and unexpected costs. __Cons:__ - __No kiosk time tracking:__ Still lacks dedicated time clock stations, which may be necessary for certain workplace environments. - __Limited reporting:__ Although improved from the Free plan, reporting capabilities aren't as comprehensive as those in the Business plan. - __Basic PTO management:__ Lacks the advanced paid time off tracking and management features found in the higher-tier plan. __Business plan__ Sling's Business plan offers the most comprehensive suite of scheduling, communication, time-tracking, workforce management, and task management tools. At $4 per user per month (billed monthly) or $3.40 per user per month (billed annually), this plan provides advanced features for businesses with more complex needs. __Pros:__ - __Kiosk time tracking:__ Includes dedicated time clock stations, ideal for physical workplaces where employees need to clock in and out on-site. - __Comprehensive reporting:__ Provides detailed reports on hours worked and wages earned, offering valuable insights for informed business planning. - __Adds task management:__ Offers the ability to attach task lists to shifts and includes task templates to save managers time when assigning routine tasks. __Cons:__ - __Higher cost:__ The most expensive option, which may not be justifiable for businesses with simpler needs or tighter budgets. - __Potential feature overload:__ Smaller organizations may not utilize all the advanced features, resulting in unnecessary complexity. - __Learning curve:__ The additional functionality may require more time for team members to master compared to simpler plans. __Free trial__ Sling offers a 15-day free trial for all paid plans, allowing businesses to test the platform's capabilities before committing to a subscription. This trial period provides complete access to Premium or Business plan features, enabling you to determine which option best suits your organization's needs. __Conclusion__ It's clear from our analysis that Sling offers flexible options designed to accommodate various business sizes and scheduling, time-tracking, and workforce management requirements. For small teams with basic needs: The Free plan provides remarkable value at no cost. With support for up to 30 users and essential scheduling features, it's an ideal solution for organizations with straightforward scheduling requirements and limited budgets. This plan works well for volunteer groups, small retail shops, or emerging startups that primarily need shift coordination and basic team communication. __For growing businesses with time tracking needs:__ The Premium Plan strikes a balance between affordability and functionality. At $2 per user per month (or $1.70 with annual billing), it adds crucial mobile time tracking and labor cost management features. This plan is particularly well-suited for businesses that need to track hours worked and labor expenses, but do not require dedicated time clock stations. __For established organizations with complex requirements:__ The Business plan offers the most comprehensive solution at $4 per user per month (or $3.40 with annual billing). With kiosk time tracking, advanced reporting, sophisticated absence management, and task management, this plan addresses the needs of larger organizations with multiple locations or complex scheduling scenarios. Businesses with strict compliance requirements, multiple shifts, or significant hourly workforces will find the most value in this plan. When selecting a plan, consider your current team size, scheduling complexity, time-tracking requirements, and budget constraints. The 15-day free trial provides an excellent opportunity to test Sling's capabilities before making a financial commitment. For businesses anticipating growth, it's worth noting that annual billing offers a 15% discount across all paid plans, providing value for organizations ready to make a longer-term commitment to Sling's platform.

Features, functions, and fabulous

Despite the desperate cheerleader narratives about every, single one of their features (we get it, it's cool guys), some of their offerings really are innovative and a welcome addition to business management software that you can't find in any of their competitors (geofencing clock in/out is possibly the best thing I've ever heard), their costs are the lowest I've ever seen and their easy to navigate platform is the most comprehensive I've ever found. Even if they charged 5 or 10x what they are, it would still be an easy choice.

Pros:
This software was easy to use and implement, intuitive, colorful, well labeled, directive, fluid, and flexible. There are a lot of options available and it offers a lot od customization during both set up and operation. I especially loved that the process to use sling, and the web application, was fast and understandable trying to get a small start up off the ground has me already spread thin on time and money, so sling really packs a punch for it's cost, which literally made my jaw drop, unparalleled!
Cons:
The company website (not the web application itself) was cumbersome and their prose was annoyingly perky. Seeing as they rambled on and on in long, overly adulating paragraphs about each one of their features, by the time I got to the "what's included in all packages/price points" section, I was a little disappointed about all the features not included (successful marketing ploy) but disappointing nonetheless.

Reasons for choosing Sling

Price is lower Features are better, more varied, well thought out Interface is bright, colorful, friendly, not intimidating Company believes in its product and wants you to also, I'd rather have somebody care too much than not at all

Sling is a very useful and adaptable app for scheduling. Want to let people switch their own shifts? Turn on the setting! Want to approve each switch change? You can do that too. Want to look at a few people's schedules? It is very easy to do so.

Pros:
Sling has a feature in which you can view your own schedule or you can view the entire schedule, including other people's. This makes it very easy to see what you want to see - your schedule, or who is working next, before you, or on a shift you might prefer. Sling also provides an ability to switch shifts with individuals rather than everyone on the team which reduces clutter to those who cannot work that shift.
Cons:
There is not much about Sling that I did not like other than when multiple schedules are input there are occasional errors. Sometimes the shifts at my job overlap for different responsibilities, which we schedule into Sling. When scheduling those roles or switching shifts among people, Sling sometimes errors out or states that there is an overlap multiple times before allowing us to schedule.

Reasons for switching to Sling

Connectteam did not offer the features we wanted to start using.

The ease of use. It was easy for us to figure out how to use and for the staff to get acquainted with.
Cons:
That I couldn’t easily share task lists with the rest of the team that was working. We also didn’t have the functionality to have a document repository that was app based for the staff- the app was limited.

Reasons for choosing Sling

Because it would automate what we were doing manually in Google sheets.

Pros:
I work in a large team. In sling, my manager was able to identify different members of the team in groups. I then could filter by team and only see the schedules of my close team members vs scrolling through everyone in our department.
Cons:
When my manager was updating our schedules on a quarterly basis, our phones would be spammed by countless notifications about schedule changes. This could be remedied by turning off notifications during this period of time, however this made it a risk for forgetting to turn notifications back on and missing important future communication.

BEST for Staff Communication (time off, messages, notices, meetings)

5

We needed something to help communicate with all of our staff, and we tried lots of other systems. With Sling's many ways to communicate, via pages, messages, and the scheduling portion, we found it the most useful. We love that you can like or comment on posts to ensure staff know what they are doing, and that you can pin high priority topics at the top of the page to best find them when you need access quickly.

Pros:
We love the time off request- the ability to do it by day or by the hour is a great feature for our type of work where employees are scheduled by the hour. We love how you can see if it has been approved or is pending, and the notifications to all management when a staff requests off is a great feature to keep everyone in the know!
Cons:
We are working with the free version only, so under 50 employees, but we do have seasonal hiring, so in the summer months we go over that number. We make it work, but it would be great to have flexibility to sometimes go over that number if needed to keep it a free user system.
