Essential tool

Really pleased with labelview - and couldn’t do without it now

Pros:

Labelview makes it simple to create the over 80 product lines we produce at Aquafresh along with barcode generation. We print daily and adjust the batch / date codes with ease

Cons:

Seemed expensive to start with - but was money well spent

Was familiar with the old version - and it looked user friendly

Reasons for switching to LABELVIEW

Old computer crashed - and lost the old version of labelview - unfortunately couldn’t transfer the data - So had to rebuild from scratch

Good for basics but priced for complex systems

It's been tolerable but getting it to do what we wanted took a lot more work and a lot more tech support than it should have. There are better systems out there for data driven labeling systems

For our system, I don't really have a PRO that I can give on this product. Planning to switch once we're done with this round of licensing

Cons:

If working from a separate database, this software CAN do the job but it's not good at it. We're going to find something that does the job better. If you're doing basic labels, there are many cheaper alternatives out there

Only OK

This software meets our needs, however, we do not use many of the advanced features (perhaps we should). We do not use Labelview as a database of labels but store all labels on a network drive. The network distributed licensing was difficult to set up and can be cranky. Accessing over VPN has been useless. It would involve daily intervention from IT. We may have benefited from a simpler software.

We like the ability to generate bar codes and customize them as well as the ability to automate certain items like dates and numbers

Cons:

The licensing system is complex and finicky.

We consulted with the sales team for the printer. The printer drove our purchase and LABELVIEW was the software they included / recommended.

Reasons for switching to LABELVIEW

Our old software and printer were extremely dated and the printer could not print on high-temperature silver mylar. Switching the printers meant switching the computer and software. I cannot remember the name of the software because it was replaced six years ago.

LabelView Ease of Use

Overall, our experience with LabelView has been good. It's very easy to learn and is mostly hassle-free.

I like the quick setup, and ease of editing label templates.

Cons:

The price is a bit high but it is worth it.

Reasons for choosing LABELVIEW

We had bad experiences with the Zebra label software and Word required multiple people to be trained to use Word. LabelView was much simpler and intuitive to use.

Reasons for switching to LABELVIEW

We needed a simpler software so multiple people could use it to create labels quickly. Using the previous product was a hassle to setup printing to our three label printers. LabelView was a breeze.

Pros:

Labelview provides an easy way to produce labels on a daily basis and is very cost effective.

Cons:

It took a while to learn the software. I did most of the learning on my own.

Poor integration

We have not enjoyed our experience. It's been slow and is painful to manage.

It creates barcodes for our product and is simple to design with. It also has the ability to connect to our data.

Cons:

The license manager has to run on a stand-alone PC and we can't move this to a server. The connections to our data are super slow.

We were currently using labelview and didn't have the time to invest in switching to Bartender.
