Pros:

Great software. Relatively logical in use once you get the hang of it but they also offer lots of tutorials and personal help throughout. Martins was really helpful and fast with an issue on my project. Had it solved with an explanation in 5 mins.

Cons:

Sometimes it can be difficult to organise lots of pipes close together in neat angles as it likes to snap to the wrong pipe but even then there are lots of ways around that so its not that big a deal.

H2X - Well worth a look for Mechanical Services design.

Overall all very positive experience in terms of usage and output. There have been a few occasions where there has been frustration, both through the learning process of the software and when glitches have occurred.

Pros:

Straightforward (mostly), comprehensive and versatile design software that ticks a lot of boxes for the design work that we are involved in. Off plan modelling is MUCH faster and easier than prior tools we have used. Calculations appear accurate. Customer support and assistance has been brilliant when things haven't gone as intended.

Cons:

Occasional software glitches and hangs, but they have improved vastly recently. Sometimes tweaking of the layout of items can be fiddly or cause unintentional movement of other components.

Reasons for choosing H2X

Better fit for our needs, other solutions did not offer as much functionality in terms of design flexibility and scope

Easy to use software & readily available support from H2X engineers when it is required. Would recommend this to any fellow design professional.

Cons:

I am yet to experience any cons whilst using H2X, extremely easy to use software & calculations are instant.

A software that makes calculation easier

Pros:

This software provides different calculation methods and can provide all the calculation result that may be rrequired.

Cons:

Sometimes it's a little bit hard to change things. For example, if i want to increase the pipe size to minimise the friction loss, i will need to select all the pipe one by one ( they are separated by the fittings).

Hi Milly, Thanks very much for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We remember you mentioning this to us and because of the inefficiencies you experienced we have added a 'minimum pipe size' feature that will mean you never need to do this again. You can edit the minimum pipe size in Settings > Flow Systems. Also, using our 'select similar' feature, you can quickly edit the properties for multiple pipes or fixtures all at once. To select similar, firstly left click on the fixture or pipe and then right click and the select similar box should appear, here you can enter properties for fixture groups or pipes. I hope this helps, don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything or have any other ideas for new features.

Great Service!!!!

So far so good and looking to continue evolving with H2X as a loyal customer. I will continue to work with H2X as a user of UFH designs and help H2X make it the best system/software it can be. I still have a lot to learn on H2X however, what I know and do with H2X so far, coincides for me to work closely with [sensitive content hidden] and others.

Certainly the backup service and support have been key factors for me to become the best I can be on H2X. [sensitive content hidden] had been amazing throughout my journey so far along with [sensitive content hidden]l when [sensitive content hidden] hasn't been available. Being heavily technical on UFH myself, myself and[sensitive content hidden] have combined our experiences and grown a good rapport. Although [sensitive content hidden] has helped me a lot more, we have worked together to conquer a lot of issues and shared thoughts, without any dictation. I also had the pleasure of working with H2X on UFH prior to launch and it has all been a great working with both [sensitive content hidden]. I like how technical H2X can be, but also having the option to do basic designs when you have little to no info off our clients. I like how H2X are always evolving and H2X seem to listen to their customers/users. A lot of the UFH issues I experience, do get raised and makes you feel part of the H2X journey.

Cons:

As H2X are constantly evolving you do experience issues and some do come with frustration! As I state though, the service is exemplary and its very rare you have to wait for resolution.

- Fast design calculations - Model validation in 3D viewer - Fantastic learning and demonstration tool for clients and internal employees - Reasonable integration to 3D BIM software - Ongoing development of software

Cons:

- Some difficulty in modelling complex pipework installations - Would like to see potential for linking of BIM model back to H2X for ongoing calculation and verification.

Pros:

Makes it easy to design hydraulic systems from the start. Forget the tedious methods of using spreadsheets and manual calculations, H2X is very efficient for both designers and reviewers.

Cons:

Designers would gain more value from the software if it integrated additional hydraulic systems such as sewer pits and sewer pumps.

H2X is so simple to use but gives complex results !

"Refreshing" to be able to use design software which is quick to learn and use. Once you use it you will never look back.

Its is so user friendly and simple to use but it still produces accurate results ! I like the way you can trace over a PDF to produce drawings.

Cons:

Not a lot ! I think sometimes you question the accuracy of the results because its so simple to use but when you interrogate the software you can see what goes on behind the scenes !

H2X is an efficient and accurate design software. The team at H2X have done an excellent job of making a simple to use software for a subject that can actually be extremely complicated.

Cons:

There is little to dislike about H2X. There is a couple things I would love to suggest that I believe can make it even faster. But as mentioned it's and excellent software

This is the way Forward!!

I am learning H2X, and i use to work this out all by hand. I have 30yrs+ experience in Engineering. It's a breath of fresh air, it is simple to use and the backup/help you get if you have a problem is First Class.

Pros:

It is simple software to use, once you understand its parameters it leans itself to easy manipulation. Each day it becomes easier to use.

Cons:

Each connection has to be exact. But that really isn't a problem there are no real dislikes to this software.
