About ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

Empowering enterprises with the power of mobility, ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus improves employee productivity by allowing teams to work across multiple devices without compromising security. As a mobile device management (MDM) solution, ManageEngine MDM provides 360 support for enterprise mobility by allowing IT administrators to manage app distribution, protect enterprise security, provide convenient access to an organization's email server, remotely distribute documents to mobile devices, and secure corporate-owned and private devices.

Features include device management interfaces, remote access, app distribution and management, remote wipe functionality, user provisioning, high-risk detection, document distribution and updates, enterprise security tools, and more.

With a device management dashboard, ManageEngine MDM provides businesses with an overview of all devices within the business ecosystem and tools to bring devices under management. IT administrators are able to troubleshoot device issues with remote access and control remotely and will configure user profiles for Wi-FI, VPN, and additional parameters to ensure device compliance.

ManageEngine MDM allows...

IT administrators to manage app inventory and distribution for iOS, Android, macOS, ChromeOS, and Windows devices across the network. Devices can either run a set of enterprise-approved apps or a mix of corporate and personal apps by separating work profiles from personal profiles. For network security, ManageEngine MDM provides high-risk detection and reporting of non-compliant devices, role-based permissions for customizable access to secure accounts and apps, and remote-wipe capabilities for lost devices. All data is stored in encrypted containers and vaults to secure corporate and personal information. ManageEngine MDM supports provisioning and integration with third-party email platforms such as Office 365 and Azure.

Caribbean MSP Exprience with ManageEngine MDM Plus

5

I’ve had a great experience so far, with minimal effort required. In fact, it’s been so smooth that we’ve migrated all our devices from ScaleFusion. We’re now even considering using ManageEngine Endpoint Central for patch management and RMM, based on how well Mobile Device Manager Plus has worked for us.

Pros:
Setting up different profiles, in other words applying restrictions and controls was very simply and straight forward.
Cons:
This far I have not had any issues with the ManageEngine MDM Plus. It is feature rich but I would like better third-party integrations such using OIDC for authentication for atypical IdPs.

Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

Lower cost and the ease of onboarding MDM plus.

Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

We switched from ScaleFusion because MDM Plus is lower cost and supports multi-tenancy.

My Take on ManageEngine MDM Plus — Powerful, if Slightly Labyrinthine

4

If I were to assign a rating, I’d place ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus comfortably between a strong 4.0 and an enthusiastic 4.5 out of 5. The reason is simple: its feature set is impressively comprehensive—think of it as a Swiss Army knife on steroids. It offers extensive flexibility and security options that would satisfy even the most meticulous IT administrators. You get granular control, multi-platform support, and a level of policy customization that can keep you engaged for quite some time. That said, it’s not without its challenges. The initial setup demands a significant investment of time and mental energy, often feeling like deciphering an ancient code. Navigating the UI can sometimes be frustrating, with important settings tucked away in less-than-intuitive places, making the occasional search for that elusive configuration inevitable. In short, the power and depth come with a cost — but for those willing to navigate the learning curve, this platform delivers substantial control and capability.

Pros:
I’ve been kicking the tires on ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus lately, and overall it delivers a lot of bang for your admin buck. If you spend hours herding devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.), there are many things to like — but it’s not without some gotchas. One of the first things that really stood out to me was how many different types of devices this thing can handle — Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and even ChromeOS in a lot of cases. If you’re dealing with a mixed bag of tech, that’s a big win. Remote troubleshooting and remote control (or at the very least, remote spying — I mean, viewing 👀) is built in, which is an absolute lifesaver when a device is somewhere in the digital wilderness… or worse, in the hands of someone who thinks “RAM” is just a type of truck.
Cons:
If there’s one thing that consistently throws a wrench in the gears (and yeah, I’ve facepalmed over this myself), it’s the UI. The layout feels like it was designed during a caffeine crash — menus within menus, stuff hiding where you’d never expect it, and a learning curve that feels more like a learning cliff, especially when you're trying to do anything beyond the usual day-to-day.

Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

Miradore only provided a very short trial period. Atera's agent was flagged by my AV solution as a Trojan the moment I downloaded to the first computer I tried to enroll

Excellent device management tool

5

My overall experience with ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus has been extremely positive. The platform provides a reliable and powerful way to manage iPads remotely, and it quickly became an essential tool in our environment. Once the initial setup and learning phase were complete, everything became fast, efficient, and highly organized. I appreciated how easily I could deploy apps, apply restrictions, and ensure all devices stayed compliant with our internal policies. The real-time monitoring and detailed reporting also gave me full visibility into the health and status of every device. Overall, it has significantly improved our management workflow and saved a great amount of time.

Pros:
What I liked most about ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus was its remarkable efficiency and ease of use when managing iPad devices remotely. The platform provides a clean, intuitive interface that makes it simple to deploy configurations, push apps, and enforce security policies across multiple devices in just a few clicks. I especially appreciated how quickly I was able to restrict access, manage permissions, and monitor device compliance without any confusion. The real-time visibility over all enrolled devices is extremely valuable, and the automation features save a significant amount of time. Overall, it delivers a reliable, powerful, and professional-level remote management experience.
Cons:
What I liked least about ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus was the learning curve at the beginning. While the platform is powerful and feature-rich, it can take some time to fully understand all the settings, profiles, and deployment options, especially for organizations managing different types of devices. Some menus feel a bit dense at first, and certain advanced features require additional exploration or documentation. I also found that a few configuration steps could benefit from being more streamlined. However, once everything is set up and you become familiar with the interface, the tool becomes extremely efficient and reliable for daily device management.

Powerful tool for Device Management

5

Managing Manage Engine MDM Plus has been a largely positive experience for us. The web-based console is clean and well-organized, making it easy to navigate. It is very easy to setup with minimal learning curve compared to similar solutions like Microsoft Intune. It is more affordable than competitors and has a flexible per-device licensing model. It shines in device provisioning, security enforcement and app management, though it has some limitations in iOS controls.

Pros:
Ease of use, cost effectiveness and strong security controls. It supports multiplatform management (Android, iOS, Windows & MacOS) and can manage smartphones, tablets and laptops. Robust security and compliance features like passcode policies, encryption, remote wipe and location tracking. Zero-touch deployment for apple devices by integrating with Apple Business Manager (ABM). Competitive pricing compared to other device management tools.
Cons:
Certain controls on Mac computers are functional only when the devices are enrolled through Apple Business Manager. Some controls do not work on Windows 11 home editions; it requires Windows Pro or Enterprise. If a Mac machine is added to ABM through Apple configurator. users can cancel their enrollment.; however, in order to prevent users from removing the enrollment, the device must be added to AMB directly through the reseller.

Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

It is cheaper than competitors and easy deployment with plenty of features.

Transition from BB UEM to ME MDM

5

We’ve been using ManageEngine MDM for several months now and are very satisfied with the overall experience. Coming from BlackBerry UEM, we were initially cautious about transitioning to a more affordable solution — but ManageEngine has proven to be a reliable and robust MDM platform that meets all our key requirements.

Pros:
One of the standout aspects is that, despite being considerably more cost-effective than many enterprise-grade solutions, ManageEngine still delivers all the core functionalities we realistically used in more expensive systems. Device enrollment, policy enforcement, remote wipe, application management, and compliance checks are all well-implemented and work consistently across our device fleet. The user interface is intuitive, the platform is responsive.
Cons:
The only notable challenge we faced was during the onboarding of existing Apple devices that were not part of Apple Business Manager (ABM). As these devices were already in use, enrolling them required additional manual steps, which added some friction to the initial deployment. However, this is more of an ecosystem limitation than a flaw in the product itself.

Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

No official retailer or support in the country

Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

The other product was to expensive and to complicated.

Great product so far

5

So far the customer support has been great. The product seems easy to use. Also, the cost for the product seems to be on par with other products. Also, my team seems to be comfortable with the knowledge base documentation that is built into the product. Seems to be the best way for my team to manage our devices.

Pros:
The ease of use that we have with this new product is amazing. We also seem to have a customer support team that knows the product. Our previous product had been passed around between a few companies and the current company did not seem to understand the product. Setup seems to be going well. We are still working on device enrollment but that seems to be a limitation of ABM and not the MDM.
Cons:
Only problems we have had were the fact that two MDMs cannot live on the same ABM at the same time. It may be our limited knowledge of the product but a good transition wizard or something similar to move from the old platform to the new one would be nice but I understand that it may be a technical challege especially if a competitor uses propreitary code to interface with Apple.

Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

Lack of documentation and support staff could not answer simple questions.

Pros:
Packed with tons of useful features, such as Kiosk mode and Geo Fencing which helped us deliver a professional experience for our users. Additionally, the support and the free demo were great with helping us get set up on the platform.
Cons:
Our only complaint with the software is the UI and layout for the online portal. It needs a splash of more color, and bolder font to draw your attention to other features and elements. We only experienced the feature we wanted to use, and the other features we know about were not easy to find due to the UI. However, this seems to be a flaw with most other MDM software we have used, but without all of the great features.
