A tool you will love!

The experience from a technical standpoint was amazing. Our tech teams transitioned from their existing tools to Carbone with ease and enthusiasm. Business users took on template design with joy, resulting in an overall enhancement in the quality of our generated PDFs. The pricing of the tool is also very fair, and the company is always willing to find solutions to help make Carbone a perfect fit, even from a financial perspective!

Pros:

Carbone is an amazing PDF generation solution. It allows users to utilize tools like Office or OpenOffice that they are already familiar with, and, with the help of a very simple yet powerful templating language, produce high-quality PDFs. The API is easy to integrate, the documentation is great, the designer is perfect for supporting template authoring, and you can get support in under 5 minutes!

Cons:

Carbone lacks PDF merging and form filling options. However, this is not the core focus of the product, and there are alternative tools available to manage these tasks. Nonetheless, it would still be a great addition!

Reasons for choosing Carbone

Pricing was very fair, and tempalating technology was above all other products for this price.

Reasons for switching to Carbone

The pricing for Carbone was very fair with regards to what itext was. The feature set and the workflow starting from Word template was a key factor in our choice, to replace Gotenberg too.

Regarding PDF merging, this feature has been available since Carbone v5.0.0 with a new formatter called "appendFile." It allows you to add one or multiple PDF files at any position within the generated document. As for forms, you can inject dynamic data into editable input fields within ODT templates to generate a PDF. The documentation for this is available on our website. Additionally, we are currently working on supporting PDFs as templates! Thank you for choosing Carbone, and we look forward to continuing to support you!

Pros:

The support has been excellet. Even though they are in Europe and I'm in the US, I've always been able to get support from them without having to wake up early. :)

Cons:

The documentation didn't and still doesn't mention how to set table formatting in the word processing app.

Awesome report generation tool

It allows me to generate pdf/docx reports based on my data. I can structure and parse the data as I want.

I like that Carbone is very versatile in generating reports. Also I love their customer support, always helping me when something is not clear.

Cons:

So far, I couldn't find anything in particular that I dislike about this tool. I've been using it for a few months already and it's just great.

Amazing and easy!!

I love the flexible and dynamic capabilities of Carbone.io. In my case, it offers all the Microsoft´s Office functionalities, working with .docx format, in a very intuitive and easy way.

Cons:

I don´t like having to adapt all the data injection strategy that we have inside our Word documents to the requirements od Carbone.io,because that means an extra work for me and I have had to jump through hoops to achieve it, but I have understood that this is a mandatory technical requirement to enjoy the whole power of Carbone.io.

Reasons for switching to Carbone

Mainly, we made the change from Microsoft technologies because cost reasons, technical support reasons and Office´s API limits.

I like how Carbone allows me to automate reports generation an extended data sources into a single integrated repository. In addition, Carbone is an open source tool which is free to use for 24/7/365.

Cons:

Open source tools have their own disadvantages though - it relies on community support which isn’t highly responsive.

Carbone combines data visualization and reporting tools which makes it easy to generate, manage and deliver BI reports. In addition, I like that Carbone track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present data in visually appealing formats when making business decisions.

Cons:

Even though Carbone has limited advanced analytics, it has robust backend integration capability.

Pros:

If you are looking to do human reports though structured data. There's no product out there that does what Carbone does. Plus the pricing is great and delivers a lot of value and the support is highly available.

Cons:

We have been customers for over a year. We don't have any hard cons about carbone yet. There were some stability issues a while back but they fixed right away.
