About Instaclustr Elasticsearch

Elasticsearch is an open source enterprise scale search engine used by organizations around the world. Its distributed design can scale to handle large data volumes and supports an array of use cases including complex event processing, real-time analytics, distributed log events, and geospatial searches. It is commonly used to solve full text search problems as well as being a core component of modern application architectures that rely on a sophisticated data hub where data needs to be stored, integrated and searched quickly. The Elasticsearch platform provides a distributed, multitenant-capable full-text search engine with an HTTP web interface and schema-free JSON documents. Its major features include real-time indexing, dynamic mapping, powerful query capabilities and a RESTful API. It supports distributed search and analytics out of the box, using built-in MapReduce functions.

Pros:

For an open-source search and analytics engine I find it fast and scalable.

Cons:

I find it really expensive to run especially with a lot of data. It is also slower than other products in indexing large amount of data.

One of the contenders for the best elasticsearch systems in the market

Overall, it's pleasant and easy to use and we haven't hit any issues that we cannot solve and desperate needs the Instaclustr team to implement.

Pros:

It's simple to integrate and it's API is fully documented. In general it's not hard to implement any elasticsearch systems.

Cons:

The dashboard information are a little lacking, however we dont really use that much in our implementation. We are only concerned about the search features.
