Helping me find my quiet community

I was so lucky to find Seer when I did. I'd been scrambling around trying to build a business case for my new social enterprise and fretting that I couldn't afford to commission the analysis that I feared I really needed. So when [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to took the time to understand my needs and what I was hoping to achieve, it meant the world to me. They were so helpful in scoping and analysing my loosely formed request. And their insight helped me think about my challenge in a completely new light. I couldn't be more grateful.

Pros:

I was amazed at how much public data they'd consolidated. I'd been unsuccessfully searching for similar intel for weeks and here it all was, under one virtual roof. I now have some finger tip reports I can draw on at any moment. My searches are geographically specific, so if I need to change locations in the future, I can immediately access in-depth reports with the push of a button (well, four buttons to input the postcode!)

Cons:

None. It's all good. If anything, it was too flexible as I sometimes worried I would break it when I fiddled with the parameters. But I didn't, fortunately.

Using data to inform community decision making at Greater Shepparton Lighthouse

Working with Seer has been, and continues to be an invigorating partnership and shared journey on the road to improve outcomes for children and young people in Greater Shepparton. We enjoy working collaboratively with the Seer team to understand and utilise relevant data in new an interesting ways. Data is an incredibly valuable tool for our work and the platform has created a simple pathway through the complex world of publicly available data. * The platform offers a 'one-stop- shop' for most publicly available data sets we utilise * Any users (including both community members and staff) are able to learn how to use the platform to inform their work * Simple interface to retrieve data and excellent analysis charts/tables for direct insert into powerpoints, reports and other documents * Quick solutions to our queries of the Seer Team * Very approachable if support is needed

* No major issues at this stage Our team would benefit from a better understanding of how we could continue to use the platform in different ways The platform is regularly updated, it would be wonderful for the team to know what updates and changes have been made to improve use or data access

Making using data easy

We often use data to support our thesis for clients. Seer is a great source to use multiple data sets and draw out insights for clients.

Pros:

Often when you need to reference a public set of data (eg. ABS) it's hard to navigate, you have to download an unformatted spreadsheet then try work out how the table is set up. With Seer it's so easy to look at these data sources in one spot, in a consistent way. The continuing addition of suitcases and different visualisations of data is also great inspiration to ask more questions of the data itself.

Cons:

Keep getting more and more data sources - would be great to see some economic data (eg. RBA data, housing affordability etc.)

Pros:

Seer is absolutely awesome! It's so easy and simple to use - finding the data you need is a breeze using their search functions and the data is visualised in an effective and aesthetic way. There's also so much worthwhile data the platform has access to, especially for an NFP trying to make strong data-driven decisions. Lastly, the video tutorials are exceptional, and really take you through how to use the platform in a clear and accessible way.

Cons:

I think there's a lot of really high-quality data, and maybe adding a feature that recommends data/suitcases that may be good for you based on your previous searches would be really useful.

[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] from Growth was excellent in providing me with an overview and training of how Seer Data and Analytics works. Provided me a sample suitcase of data so I could explore the benefits of using Seer. I liked the data dashboard gave me some great insights into the population health of the Dandenong Growth Corridor.

I have only started using the software. I will update this section as I use the platform more.

Wonderful Service

I love how Seer Data has brought all the data together in one platform. Having this data at our fingertips is critical to making organisation and strategic decisions.
