About Bright Contracts

Bright Contracts is an on-premise human resources (HR) compliance and contracts management solution. It is suitable for small to midsize businesses in Ireland and the UK and is compatible with Windows operating systems. Bright Contracts offers document management, employee-handbook management and user alerts.

Bright Contracts enables users to create and manage contracts of employment and employee policies and procedures. The software can help employers meet their legal obligations in terms of contracts of employment.

Users can access online HR template forms and letters to assist in managing day-to-day HR issues, and the software sends automatic notifications of employment-law changes. Bright Contracts also automatically saves and tracks all out-dated documents. Users can customise documentation to suit their own organisation’s requirements.

The holiday and absence section are so impressive. We have found the staff and helpline are very informative and helpful. They make some hard jobs easier

Cons:

My only problem is that when doing rotas they are weekly where as I would need a rota that can go from the 1st to the 31st of the month.

A good way to keep track of compliance

Pros:

As our company contracts can be very similar to each others Bright Contract allows us to repeat the same type of contract only changing small parts if needed. The fact that the system alerts us if a new policy might need to be integrated in the handbook is one of the best feature of this software. Bright Contract helps us to stay compliant at all times. Overall a very good software that I would recommend.

Cons:

The system does not allow to archive former employees but one has to delete the contract from their system if they don't want to have a long list of employees. Sometimes the system needs to be rebooted a couple of time before working correctly i.e. not all contracts appear or the handbook don't show fully. Last thing, if the alert to new policy for the handbook is very appreciated and allows us to stay up to date with compliance, it is not always straight forward in the presentation of the system that there is a update. It would be great also to include an email notification as one does not always to logon onto the system.

Contracts for a fraction of the price

It's a great add on piece of software for my payroll bureauy.

It allows me to provide contracts for my payroll clients at a fraction of the price that a HR professional would charge. It has quite a few customisable options, and means that I can offer added services to my clients and generate extra revenue.

Cons:

The section about giving notice for absences is worded a bit strangely and sometimes I have to manually edit this with a pdf to Word editor which is a bit annoying. The option to manually edit would be good, or to export in a Word document where I could edit it. Sometimes importing employees doesn't work and it crashes the software. Being able to import companies would also be good.

I love how the employees can book their annual leave using the brightpay app and I can see on the calendar which employees are due off and when.

As a small business owner and one that has to wear many hats in the day to day running of the business this software is invaluable. For a small investment in time once a month it is easy to remain on top of all contract obligations. Support is great and all communication is relevant to our business. I would recommend the product.

Cons:

Perhaps an electronic acknowledgement of contracts sent to employees feature. This would save printing and follow up of each employee.

Cons:

There really is very little, it can be a bit tricky when you are trying to insert some additional company specific information and the format is sometimes misaligned but the content is excellent.

Creating contracts for a small business.

I found it easy to use. I can edit it to my own needs. It includes all the up to date legislation for employment. The back up support is very helpful. I found [SENSITIVE CONTENT] easy to contact and her advice was very useful.

Cons:

I was a little confused at the start between the handbook and the contract. But I soon got the hang of it.

Reasons for switching to Bright Contracts

They were too expensive. When a problem arose I would have to pay more money for them to represent me. Despite them having me the advice I the first place.
