Unlike many platforms that become restrictive over time, Bagisto empowers businesses and developers with full control, scalability, and technical freedom. It is an excellent choice for companies that want to build robust, future-proof eCommerce solutions.

Fully open-source with complete ownership and no subscription fees Built on Laravel with a clean, scalable, and well-structured architecture Capable of handling up to 10 million products with the right infrastructure Excellent support for large catalogs and marketplace-based projects High flexibility for customization without platform limitations API-first and headless-ready, suitable for web and mobile applications Backed by Webkul, a well-established global technology company

Cons:

None so far. Up to this point, Bagisto has met all of our technical and business expectations. The platform is stable, flexible, and scalable, and we have not encountered any limitations or drawbacks that impacted performance or usability.

We switched to Bagisto to gain full ownership, avoid recurring licensing or subscription fees, and achieve greater flexibility for customization and scalability. Great Open-Source Laravel Ecommerce Framework

My overall experience with Bagisto has been great for client projects, contributions, and personal learning. I discovered it while searching for an open-source Laravel ecommerce solution. I even used it for a freelance project, and the results were excellent.

Pros:

Bagisto provides a complete set of features that let you launch an online store quickly. Most ecommerce essentials are already built in and easy to navigate. Its user-friendly interface makes setup and management smooth even for new users.

Cons:

Bagisto currently includes only one default theme. While the theme works well, having more built-in options would give developers greater flexibility. Additional themes could make it easier to match different client needs.

Reasons for switching to Bagisto

I switched because I wanted to explore a different perspective and see what this product could offer. While WordPress with WooCommerce is often a go-to option, I find Bagisto’s product management much easier for me. That encouraged me to dive deeper and explore the rest of the functionalities Bagisto provides.

Bagisto is a good option for a custom e-commerce store if you are comfortable with Laravel. It is easy to set up, follows clean Laravel conventions, and gives you full control over the code and data. Most core features work out of the box.

Cons:

Theming and frontend customization still require developer effort and advanced topics are under documented. Also there is only one default storefront theme, so design work is usually needed

features, open-source, discord support is close to very very good (it can be improoved by sending more informations on where to customize certain extra features, yet sometimes they do it).

Cons:

Documentation for new theme is very bad. Also the video is strange.

A powerful and flexible eCommerce framework — perfect for custom projects.

I built my online store Mis Momentos Digitales using Bagisto, and the experience has been excellent. Bagisto offers a powerful and flexible architecture that allowed me to customize the storefront, design, branding, and customer experience exactly the way I wanted — without limitations. What I appreciate the most is how clean and developer-friendly the structure is. Even though I'm primarily a .NET developer, Bagisto made it easy for me to understand the workflow, extend components, and add custom features such as design changes, branding, WhatsApp integration, and product categories for handmade items crafted by Mexican artisans. The admin panel is intuitive, fast, and very complete. I can manage products, orders, categories, and pages with ease. The multi-channel support and CMS capabilities have been incredibly useful for building different landing pages. I also want to highlight the Bagisto team — they have been extremely supportive and approachable. Their help and quick communication made a huge difference in my development experience. Overall, Bagisto is a fantastic open-source eCommerce framework. I highly recommend it to developers, entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to build a store with full control and flexibility.

We installed Bagisto on a shared hosting environment, the product is serving us well, we love the admin user interface and lots of free features of bagisto and the most important thing is that the team is always ready to assist us whenever we have issues. An awesome product
