About EchoSpan Flexible 360

EchoSpan’s 360-Degree Feedback tool is a cloud-based solution that provides information to employees about their professional strengths and opportunity areas by collecting feedback from their co-workers.

Administrators can create customized projects, manage respondents, view real-time status information and download reports through the project dashboard. The reports can be viewed in pre-defined templates or customized to provide specific data points on graphs or charts. Users can also export data to Microsoft Excel for additional analysis.

The tool includes an integrated development planning module, which helps employees build and manage professional improvement plans based on the results of their 360-degree feedback review.

EchoSpan uses at-rest and in-transit data encryption and is a certified participant in the US-EU Privacy Shield program. The tool’s user interface is compatible on PC, tablets and other mobile devices and supports more than 140 languages, allowing organizations to run feedback reviews in respondents' native languages. Pricing is based on the number of respondents. Support is provided via email and phone.

Pros:

I’ve been conducting 360° feedback processes as part of my executive coaching practice for over 10 years, using other survey tools that couldn’t come close to what EchoSpan offers. What I like most about EchoSpan Flexible 360 is: 1.its exceptional value for money; 2.how intuitive and quick it was to learn; 3.the incredible support that came (and continues to come with it); and 4. the AI Feedback Assistant, which helps respondents provide clear, specific, and objective feedback, and produces outstanding summary reports. This feature alone has saved me countless hours of reviewing and organizing comments to identify key feedback themes. Finally, I also love that EchoSpan offers a version of this tool that allows me to run engagement surveys for my clients which is something I could never do with my previous feedback survey tool. I am all in with EchoSpan. I can't say enough about the people behind it or the tool itself!

Cons:

Honestly, I can’t think of a single aspect of this tool that I dislike. Every feature I’ve used has exceeded expectations—from functionality to user experience and support. EchoSpan sets the bar high and lives up to every inch of it!

Reasons for choosing EchoSpan Flexible 360

Most of the other platforms I explored were designed for in-house IT teams to set up. They were overly complex, difficult to learn, and required far more time and technical involvement than I was willing to invest. A few might have worked, but their steep learning curves were discouraging and the deal-breaker was that none of their 360 tools allowed me to assign different question categories to specific respondent groups. This limitation meant I had to send all questions to all respondents, including people who weren’t in any position to observe the behaviours or actions being evaluated. I was amazed that such a fundamental feature could be missing. EchoSpan truly was a lifesaver to find!

Reasons for switching to EchoSpan Flexible 360

The product was re-invented and while it was always clunky to use, it was so glitchy it became impossible to continue with.

The platform's sheer flexibility is a massive pro; its feature set is so robust that I can't imagine a complex organizational scenario it couldn't handle. What I liked most is the exceptional customer service that makes that power accessible. In every exchange, the team went beyond simply answering questions. They asked thoughtful follow-up questions and approached every conversation with a supportive tone that was focused on empowering me as a user. A powerful platform is one thing, but having it backed by a team that ensures you can use it effectively is what I think truly sets EchoSpan apart.

Cons:

Given how robust and flexible the platform is, the sheer number of features and configuration options can feel a bit overwhelming at first. When initially setting up a complex project, there's a brief moment of wondering exactly where to begin. But I'd classify this as a very temporary challenge. Any time I felt stuck, I contacted the support team and got real-time guidance.

It gives lots of flexibility to tailor the 360 survey. You have different options on whether to include the supervisor in selecting the coworker rater list.

Cons:

Sometimes it is not intuitive. There are times when it is not easy to find what you are looking for.

Far and away the best customer service I've had with a vendor. They are responsive, helpful, and creative in finding solutions. They also help teach me to fish, so I feel confident and competent navigating the system. For the tool itself, we've found great value in the customization of surveys and reports. It is user friendly and easy to navigate. There are so many options and ways to configure, we can set-up exactly what we need.

Cons:

It takes a minute to get up the learning curve - though I've found that the team is so helpful that it makes the experience relatively pain-free.

Pros:

The aspect that was most concerning to me regards the amount of flexibility that I had concerning the review process. I managed to set up the rating scales, modify the evaluation forms, and changes in the flow according to our leadership competencies.

Cons:

One of the weaknesses that need to be addresses is inadequate historical comparison across reports. It was difficult for me to check historical values of variability on several periods of review cycle without compiling data from the previous cycles.
