About Tick

Tick is a time tracking software that helps businesses record time and budgets for multiple projects and tasks. The platform enables administrators to add notes and receive feedback on budgets via timesheet reporting functionality.

Managers can create and track timers in real-time using mobile applications on Android and iOS devices. Additionally, Tick allows teams to set up budgets for individual tasks and monitor project statuses on a unified interface.

Tick offers an application programming interface (API), which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications including FreshBooks, Quickbooks Online, Asana, Zapier, Trello and Basecamp.

Used to be good, but better products out there

Keeping track of hours is a huge problem and you need something ever-present to stay current but not too intrusive and Tick did this well.

Pros:

Initially it was one of the only Mac-based time-tracking apps and worked well for that, including the time tracking widget which made it easy to keep up with this dreary task.

Cons:

It was a bit pricey and didn't offer very many features, I found better products that did more for less.

A very simple and straight forward software, easy to implement.No more time wasting or unnecessary events, everything is all planned out.With their app which can be installed on phones made work more easier and effective to provide good results.My brand is now known and more improved.

Pros:

Tick integrates with other tools so easily and blends with the working environment super well. Managing time generally has improved my personal life bringing enjoyment in everything I do since I do it at the right time not at the expense of other activities. Exporting time entries is quite easy which makes invoicing simple and achievable.

Cons:

Very profound and extremely fast. Tick's benefits weigh more higher. I don't find anything bad about it. It's performance is good.

Pros:

Love that I can have multiple projects under a single client. Love that you can create monthly recurring time budgets on a per project basis as well as open projects.

Cons:

I don't feel it connects well to many other platforms if that is needed. For instance, importing it into data management platforms so can see and manipulate the data on dashboards.

Using Tick Depends on Company Needs

Since my team of graphic designers is the smallest of my teams, for me it isn't worth the effort to have a separate system for them to use. But it could be amazing for someone else.

Pros:

Example: Graphic Designers do not necessarily need to be in the office or on campus to complete their assignments. But we do need a way to assign their projects (tasks), allocate the time/hours allowed for the project, and any other details. You can set these parameters for an individual employee or for a team of graphic designers. This team is quite small so it works.

Cons:

The benefit of this software is also the downfall. It works great for a small team. This is not something I would use for my larger teams because I cannot integrate it with our university-wide Workday system. As a work team, we use Trello and Zapier but it doesn't necessarily correlate with timesheets.

Pros:

Tick allows you to track time to projects, broken into as many sub-categories as you need to encompass all the elements of that project. You can easily see a breakdown of your time and ensure that you're tracking the right amount of time to a day/week or project. It also allows you to set time budgets you can track against.

Cons:

The reporting function can be a bit cumbersome; I wish it would automatically port to Excel or into more of a spreadsheet format, rather than a long list. It also will automatically create a "shortcut" menu based on your recent entries, so you don't have to scroll through all the projects/tasks to find the one you need to enter time into, but I wish that shortcut menu was customizable rather than auto-generated.

Pros:

Tick simplifies how our projects are tracked and budgeted, providing every employee with an idea of how much time is expended on every project. Resulting in increased productivity on the long run ,as employees are able to compare their speed rate on one project against another. Tick integrates well with Basecamp ,and it is so easy to import our projects from Basecamp into Tick.Likewise , making it very easy to estimate the cost of new projects and compare them with past projects we have done.It has a nice Chrome extension and can be used while on the move ,via mobile.

Cons:

It is a whole lot of work trying to manage a project management program on one hand and using Tick on the other hand ,on a single project. Will be a good development ,if Tick can be upgraded into a full blown project management tool.

Tick is an easy way to track your project and task and can also track the progress of project.

It reminds me to track my time and also reminds me about the progress. It can also import my projects and add various tasks in it. I can easily retrieve my data from it. It could prove the great app for the upcoming time in the business world.

Pros:

It can be used easily and it’s the time budgeting. Its auto-fill feature for finding out project is something good. The data saving method of this software is always proved too good. I can easily see all the projects and task at a one place and it saves lots of time.

Cons:

Its interface is not that good. Native desktop app is not available and the time can’t be inserted on time of day. People say that they found base camp and liquid planner way better than this software.
