I wanted to extend my overall understanding of computer science basics and polishing basics to the javascript and react programming languages

Pros:

Very clean and friendly User Interface. In course mode you have 3 sections - instructions to the left, in middle place for your code and effects to the right - I really liked it!

Cons:

Speed might be better also remember to save your code so that you don't have to write it again on reload. Or don't save - you will faster remember material ;)

Went from the free trial to one year Codecademy Pro

Codecademy is a great place to learn coding, and get the fundamentals of a programming language.

Pros:

The most interesting feature of Codecademy is that the code can be run from the browser, followed by the examples, and the fact that in almost all the courses you put the learning to test, exercising and writing code.

Cons:

I liked least the variety of courses, but I am sure that the content will be improved in the future.

Reasons for switching to Codecademy

I made the switch because at the previous company where I worked I received for free the Udemy for Business, and at the actual company Codecademy was my best selection learning wise.

Pros:

I like that Codecademy provides competitions and challenges for the community to enhance their experience. Codecademy is affordable, especially for students as it offers a student discount. Also, I like the talks and sessions that Codecademy organizes weekly where they host people from the industry.

Cons:

The user interface is not food to encourage people to study. Codecademy lacks gamification which makes the cycle of learning more exciting. Also, I don't like that most of the courses are out of date and don't qualify me for today's market labor.

Coding on a different level

I started using Codecademy a long time ago and I really appreciated the student discount for my first years on the platform. I managed to try a lot of courses and I really like that they update each course. Very good way to learn something new and useful.
