About OpenMRS

OpenMRS is a cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) solution that lets practices to design and create their patients’ medical records. Key features include patient repository, reporting, cohort and patient workflow management.

OpenMRS provides a patient repository that helps to maintain patient information which includes patient demographics, orders, clinical observations and data. The solution provides multi-language support and also allows users to create a group of patients.

OpenMRS is a library of API calls and databases, compatible with practices of all sizes. It is also a community of users, funders, implementers and developers who are involved in applying health information technologies to solve medical problems.

OpenMRS includes a concept dictionary at the core of the application, which acts as a storage medium for all general questions, drugs, procedures, tests and diagnosis-related information. Additionally, the solution provides add-on modules for patient registration, id generation and allocation services. Support is offered via phone, email and internet relay chat (IRC).

OpenMRS2 is hands down, the best?

For nearly 2 years I’ve been using the software, it was very easy to learn.. if you can read, you can pick up on this software in a flash! There are fields for all of the important, detailed information, right at your fingertips.

Pros:

OpenMRS2 is incredibly simple to use, learn and to keep the office running smoothly. It is so important that medical records are accurate & complete, with OpenMRS2 there’s nothing to worry about! All fields are right in front of you, just fill them out. The software makes it easy to keep accurate, detailed information on all of your patients.

Cons:

There is honestly not a single thing I don’t like. I use this software daily in the office and always know just where to go in order to find the important information that I need!

Reasons for choosing OpenMRS

Other products were just as costly, but had more of a learning curve. Our office needed something that would be simple to learn, so that we didn’t have to waste a ton of time training employees on it, and something that held ALL of the important record info in one place!

Our office needed to update to EMR/EHR and the choice was easy! After reading some reviews on OpenMRS2, and it’s ease of use, we purchased the product and couldn’t have been happier.

The Best MR Software out there.

Using this software is a breeze. The learning curve isn't as intense as with other software. New employees in our office has picked it up quickly and we have had no issues. Everything is right there in front of you, which makes it easy to enter new patient info, work through billing/coding and finding MR info that you need.

The ease of use! It is so simple to enter medical record info into OMR software and find what you're looking for.

Cons:

Probably the cost, although all medical record software is pricey. But, in the long run it's worth it for sure.

an ideal medical record keeping software totally free

perhaps the best software for your clinic if you have some knowledge of programming/computer, so that you yourself will be the master of your record keeping software (other paid native apps are almost totally devoid of this freedom). from now onwards, this is my solution.

Pros:

I have recently switched to this due to, not price, but ability to customise and i was blown away by the potential of this software. it is totally free, a goodness in and of itself, but don’t underestimate it. it has almost any feature you would want from a medical record keeping software and i way better than several paid one ( i used practice fusion, kareo etc). although there are no versions for ios or android, but it can still be accessed from there as it is a broswer based app.

Cons:

very difficult to setup without a good knowledge of computer and programming or help from someone. no native versions for various operating systems customisation for your setup will take quite some time.
