Pros:

The ease of initial install and setup as well as process of configuring maps. Also the multiple input methods for printing.

Cons:

Documentation could be more detailed and more scenarios could be highlighted.

Reasons for choosing SENTINEL

Pricing as well as well as keeping MRP on-site.

Lot of trouble at the begining to make link with codesoft

Cons:

The way to select data in label template it's absolutely not clear. I always copy paste from another file.

We use CODESOFT and SENTENAL

We replaced LOFTWARE label solution with TEKLYNX, and we had a big savings over LOFTWARE upgrade cost. This solution works much better at a lower cost.

It allows printing from a Central Server from our Oracle System to many differrent locations for Shipping and Receiving.

Cons:

Have to Pay for each printer, so we are limited. But this applied to our Previous Solution.,

Because SENTINEL was used within TEKLYNX

Reasons for switching to SENTINEL

Upgrade Cost was Too High, so we looked for alternatives to LOFTWARE.

Good supervisory sytem for automated label printing

A bit of a learning curve, but once it is setup has been very reliable.

Pros:

System is very robust. Interface and detailed logs are great for troubleshooting syntax issues or for correlating printing events with other areas of process.

Cons:

Lack of ability to open Codesoft from Sentinel server for troubleshooting.

Thank you for the review. If you right click on SENTINEL in the system tray it will allow you to launch "Label Printing Module" which is a print only version of CODESOFT that comes with SENTINEL. Pros:

Sentinel has been a reliable work horse. We use it for our patient identification and wrist band solution. Very little maintenance involved and overhead once set-up

Cons:

The initial set-up was a little more challenging and convoluted, but doing so with support made it far easier.
