About Excel Add-ins

Devart Excel Add-ins are tools that enable Microsoft Excel to connect directly with various cloud applications and databases. These add-ins allow users to work with external data sources such as Salesforce, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL within the Excel interface.

The add-ins include a visual Query Builder for selecting specific data to import and support advanced SQL queries for detailed data selection. Users can work with live data in Excel spreadsheets, refresh data with a single update action, and preview information before importing. Connection details can be optionally stored within Excel files for ease of use.

The add-ins also provide editing features, allowing users to modify external data directly in Excel. Changes are highlighted for tracking, and built-in data validation identifies issues such as incorrect dates or duplicate primary key values. The add-ins are available in packages designed for different needs, including access to all supported data sources, database connections, or cloud application connectivity.

Very useful but the latest version is buggy.

Pros:

Allows to conveniently and easily customize reports within Excel using the most up-to-date data available.

Cons:

The lastest version of the Excel Add-in requires re-entering log in information any time a refresh is necessary. Some of the reports I run requires re-entering the same information 5 or 6 times in a row making the add-in almost unusable.
