Early adopter of OrthoCatapult

The experience has been amazing and I can truly say the implementation of this software has made an immense impact to our practice. It allows for increased case closure, easy follow-up with Treatment Coordinators, and a seamless experience for the patient side when signing contracts.

Pros:

The ability for patients to sign contracts at home and make their initial down payment was a complete game changer. This allowed us to complete all steps at the consultation (iTero scan/photos/CBCT) and there was no need for the patient to come back in after signing contracts from home. The design of the fee presentation and interactive aspect looks the most modern on the market compared to other companies we shopped around for.

Cons:

Since we were one of the first offices to start with OrthoCatapult, there were some initial kinks that needed to be worked out. However, they are incredibly responsive and take feedback constantly and have always addressed any concerns or any input we had for continued improvement to the software.

Reasons for choosing OrthoCatapult

OrthoFi was very expensive in our opinion. The interface looked dated as well. OrthoCatapult looked like the future of fee presentations in Orthodontics. Our practice hinges on being the most advanced in the Cleveland area as well as nationally and our previous outdated paper system was not aligned with that. We wanted the look and feel to be the most modern on the market.

Pros:

Aside from the awesome patient dashboard that calculates payments in a very simple way, what I really love is the follow-ups! I love seeing a patient start come in on a Sunday with no effort from my team.

Cons:

I just wish I could use it for other types of cases as well and not just Ortho!

Review of OrthoCatapult

It has increased our same day starts and made it much easier for us to get starts in office and from home. The software is generally pretty user friendly and easy to navigate. [sensitive content hidden]and the dev team are pretty responsive to our feedback but new changes take a pretty long time to implement. There are some ways that the Software makes our jobs a little bit more difficult which I explained in the Cons section which has made me consider re-looking into some pricier but meatier services like OrthoFi, but I'm happy enough staying with the product for the meantime because it is much better than what our system was when I started (all paper quotes)

Pretty easy to use-user friendly, easy to learn Helps us get same day starts by allowing people to sign at consult easily or at home and make a down payment.

Cons:

Stats are limited in that it isn't integrated into the our PMS like OrthoFi was. Some other products provide more comprehensive and broad data, not just for TCs only No way to move someone into Observation so we can better keep track of who didn't need tx/wasn't recommended Still a little limited in data entry. Unable to change insurance benefit with multiple treatment. For example, if someone is interested in a comprehensive or a limited treatment plan, I cannot change the insurance benefit for each plan, because the estimated insurance coverage is not always going to be the same with a D8040 and a D8090 because the cost difference is significant. Emails to patients always go to spam. I have started just telling every patient to check their spam folder for their emails which looks tacky. I'm not confident that the follow ups work. I know the emails go to patient spam and barely anyone will authorize our text messages so the follow up protocol is unusable for our office and I have to do my own manual follow ups to get anyone out of my pending.

Reasons for switching to OrthoCatapult

Used to use OrthoFi before my time. Stopped using it do to insurance verifications being inaccurate. Have recently been told by OrthoFi reps that this has been fixed.
