Still this is the best tool to portray the numbers using formulas with charts and graphs. Easy to learn

Great for Clarity, Challenging When Things Get Fussy

Overall, your experience with Microsoft Excel was genuinely positive because it gave you a sense of clarity and control over information that would otherwise feel scattered. You appreciated how powerful it was for tracking patterns, organising data, and making sense of numbers whether you were budgeting, comparing trends, or building little systems to keep life running smoothly. At the same time, Excel could be a bit much when you just wanted something simple; formulas could get fussy, and one small mistake could throw everything off without any clear explanation. Navigation was mostly straightforward, but some features felt buried or overly technical. Still, for what you got out of it, the value for money felt solid, and you rarely needed customer support because you usually figured things out yourself. In the end, Excel matched your analytical, structured way of thinking, even if it occasionally tested your patience.

What you like most about Microsoft Excel is how it gives you complete control over information. You’re naturally analytical and you think in patterns, so Excel feels like a place where everything finally lines up and makes sense. You can track trends, compare numbers, spot inconsistencies, and build little systems that make life easier whether it’s budgeting, planning tenancy timelines, analysing fitness or wellness routines, or organising household data. You love that Excel doesn’t just store information; it helps you understand it. The formulas, filters, and conditional formatting let you turn raw details into something visual and logical, and that sense of clarity is something you really value. It’s a tool that matches the way your mind works: structured, precise, and always looking for the bigger pattern behind the details.

Cons:

What you liked least about Microsoft Excel was how quickly it could become overwhelming when you were just trying to do something simple. You’re great with patterns and logic, but Excel sometimes felt like it expected you to think like a programmer, especially when formulas got fussy or one tiny mistake threw everything off. You didn’t enjoy the moments where a sheet became cluttered, or when you had to dig through menus to find a basic function that should’ve been easier to access. And when something didn’t calculate the way you expected, it could be frustrating because Excel doesn’t always explain what went wrong it just gives you an error and leaves you to figure it out. Those little roadblocks were the parts you liked least, especially when you were trying to work efficiently and keep everything clear and organised.

Pros:

I use excel daily, for data management, KPI, tracking and presentation of data. I find it one of the most useful software's, with a lot of different options for data sorting, and presentation. One of one features i use regularly is pivot tables, which make data management extremely easy to present and sort. The addition of graph creation directly from pivot tables is very helpful. The many different ways of formatting graphs makes it very easy to present.

Cons:

There is a lot to know in excel including many formulas which are useful in data management, but it is not easy to always figure out which formula to use and how to write it to get what you want from the data. However, this is more related to my level of knowledge and not really excel limitation. Google is always a helpful tool in trying to find the correct formula

Excel - Gives you all the power to navigate daily tasks easier!

It is what we use daily and I cannot picture us working without it. We have schedules, quotes, order forms and monthly reports all in Excel that we use for various daily activities.

Pros:

Excel makes it easy to for us to do a lot of things such as: Build course schedules and instructor calendars Track student registrations and seat counts Calculate class profitability (revenue vs instructor cost, room rental, materials) Manage class budgets and special pricing promotions Optimize when courses run and ensure each class is financially viable. Excel is one of the most in-demand workplace skills and our top selling course, our team lives in Excel for 4-5 hours a day as its involved with everything we do.

Cons:

Only thing we experience is it is difficult to manage with large or complex datasets - we will be forced to move to Access for larger data analysis

Excel is not expensive, does the job and calculates a lot so you do not have to! Easy to use as you go and I have never encountered bugs or issues that I cannot get resolved by the support team.

Cons:

I really enjoy the process of learning something new to keep working daily. I do not like that this takes a lot of time or a quick search to find the exact formula I needed.
