Great reporting and planning tool

Before Farseer we used multiple Excel files for reporting and planning. It consumed a lot of our resources and prone to errors. We chose Farseer because we needed a system that could handle complex models and enable real-time collaboration across multiple teams. Today we use it for management reporting, financial planning and consolidation. The biggest benefits are: the flexibility in creating new models and entities, the fact that the whole team works on the same data, easy consolidation and great customer support. It reduced our reporting and planning efforts and enabled us to focus on analysis and support

Great FP&A software worth having

Overall our transition from excel based budgeting/forecasting was generally painless. After working very briefly in the tool people began to understand all the benefits and embraced Farseer as a new way of working. We are glad that we chose Farseer because the implementation team was great, guys worked quickly and listened to our needs.

Pros:
Farseer has significantly sped up and simplified our forecasting process compared to what we were used to. It required us to adopt a more structured approach to budgeting, which has greatly improved our workflow. Now, our discussions are centered on the budget itself rather than spending time formatting Excel spreadsheets. Additionally, Farseer was much more affordable than many other competitors.
Cons:
There aren't many issues, but there are a few aspects that I believe will be addressed over time. Farseer is still a relatively new product developed by a small team, so it's understandable that there is still some work ahead.

Farseer was smaller in size and complexity than the competitors which meant that the implementation was quicker and easier. Also Farseer was more affordable than the competitors.

My experience with Farseer

My overall experience with Farseer has been very positive. All the data we need for reporting and planning is centralized in one place, which makes our work much more efficient. The application is easy to use and intuitive, and the modeling process is straightforward. It’s a powerful custom-made tool that really fits our specific needs.

What I like most about Farseer is that it's a custom-made application we built entirely based on our own needs, and that it's very easy to use.
Cons:
Some of the models we implemented ended up being a bit too complex, which now limits the level of automation we can achieve. However, this is not a limitation of the software itself, but rather a result of how we initially set things up within the application.

It's easy to use environment, very intuitive. Planning process is way faster, easier consolidation process, increased data accuracy, process automatization. Farseer is expected to be a single source of truth for us. I like flexibility which supports both top-down and bottom-up planning approaches.
Cons:
Still waiting fo AI assistant to help with analytics as currently only numerical deviations are available. As well more development on dashboard sides and no posibility to colour and bold fonts and cells in reports.

It’s okay for now — it requires quite a bit of data preparation in Excel before import. Adding new members to dimensions is easy, and the variable editor is simple and functional.

Excellent support from the consultants — they show great understanding and patience. Simple data import, Excel-like formulas, copy-paste from Farseer to Excel and vice versa. Spread-sheet link functionality that does not require licence.
Cons:
No undo functionality, no graphical display of dimensional model, GUI can be sluggish sometimes, but simple refresh will amend situation.
